Seattle Convention Center: Know Arch vs Summit Before You Go

Seattle Convention Center is a downtown campus, not one single entrance. Arch is centered at 705 Pike Street; Summit is at 900 Pine Street. Your event building should decide your entrance, garage, rideshare point and walking route.

This guide answers the practical questions behind Seattle Convention Center events, parking, hotels, today’s schedule, Summit access and maps without pretending every event uses the same building or rules.

DECISION FIRST

Choose the Visit Path That Matches Your Trip

Arch attendee

Your ticket says Arch

Start from 705 Pike, then use the organizer’s hall/room and entrance instructions. Arch Garage is the attached SCC-operated garage.

Summit attendee

Your ticket says Summit

Start from 900 Pine. Summit Garage enters at 1009 Olive Way; rideshare/bus drop-off is on 9th between Pine and Olive.

Multi-day traveler

You need a hotel

Choose by the walking route to your actual building and event housing block—not by a generic “near convention center” distance.

Exhibitor / planner

You need operational access

Use the show manual, docks/HCF route, service deadlines and SCC Event Manager instructions rather than attendee arrival directions.

Seattle Center is not Seattle Convention Center. Seattle Center is the separate Space Needle / Climate Pledge Arena campus around 305 Harrison Street. Seattle Convention Center is downtown at 705 Pike (Arch) and 900 Pine (Summit). Search results can mix the two, so confirm the name before following parking or event results.

CURRENT CHECK

Seattle Convention Center Today — August 17, 2026

Today check: the official SCC Upcoming Events page is live, but its dated listings were not exposed in the indexable page content available during this audit. We therefore did not invent an “event today” listing. Public areas can be open even when a public show is not listed, and private/credentialed activity may not be searchable.

Today’s public building access

Arch public areas: 6 AM–8 PM daily. Summit Market Lobby: 6 AM–10 PM daily. Event areas open only for the event’s published or pre-arranged staffed hours.

Events this weekend

For Aug. 22–23, we did not confidently verify a public SCC event from the official venue/organizer sources audited. Check the SCC live calendar before traveling for a specific show.

Next verified event

The SISO Leadership Conference runs Aug. 18–20, 2026 at Seattle Convention Center. Its official program lists sessions in the Terrace Suite and Rooms 427–429 on Level 4, plus the Signature Room on Level 5. Check your registration details for the exact building entrance.

Why “today” can be tricky

Some meetings are private, some calendars are dynamically rendered, and the organizer—not SCC—often controls registration, badges and final session schedules.

Do not drive downtown because a third-party event page says “today.” First verify the date, building and organizer. If a listing only says “Seattle Convention Center” without Arch or Summit, resolve that before choosing a garage.

EVENTS & SCHEDULE

Seattle Convention Center Events and Schedule

The most useful schedule is not a long copied calendar. It is a verified chain: SCC calendar → official organizer → building → daily hours → entry/badge rules.

Search the SCC Upcoming Events page

Use the event name or date. Treat it as the venue-level starting point.

Open the official organizer page

Confirm tickets, registration, badge pickup, event hours, age restrictions and refund terms there.

Find ARCH or SUMMIT

Do not assume all SCC events use 705 Pike. Large events can use both buildings.

Save the room, hall or level

This determines the most practical entrance, parking garage and internal walking route.

Recheck the morning of the event

Parking capacity, transit alerts and organizer instructions can change after you first booked.

BUILDING GUIDE

Seattle Convention Center Summit vs Arch

The SCC campus includes Arch at 705 Pike, Arch at 800 Pike and Summit at 900 Pine. Summit is the newer vertical event building; the buildings are close, but they are not one front door.

Level 5Finneran Ballroom 58,650 sq ft plus additional meeting/support areasMajor general sessions and large ballroom functions may route here.

Fresh floor-plan update: older SCC/Visit Seattle pages still surface rounded figures such as 573,770 total event space, 58,000 ballroom and 248,450 exhibit space. The official April 2026 Summit floor-plan booklet gives newer totals of 574,630, 58,650 and 248,590 square feet respectively, so this refresh uses the newer booklet for planner-level figures.

How to pay without holding up the garage exit

Take the entry ticket and keep it with you

SCC tells drivers to pay before returning to the vehicle.

Use the right pay station

Arch: Level 3 at the 8th Avenue garage entrance/exit, Aisle A by the crosswalk. Summit: garage lobby. Freeway Park: Level G.

Use a major credit card

The current SCC parking page says only major credit cards are accepted for garage parking fees.

Scan the validated ticket at exit

If the gate has a problem, use the intercom rather than backing into the queue.

Reserve before a big show

SCC has an official SpotHero partnership and says garages sometimes fill. Confirm the reservation’s exact garage and event date.

EV charging

Four stations are available across Arch Aisle A and Summit Level 1B. Arch: first two charging hours free, then $2/hour. Summit: $2/hour. Parking fees still apply.

Bicycle parking

Arch has room for roughly 10–15 bikes on the Blue Level; Summit has bike parking on the purple level. Locking stands also exist outside. SCC does not offer bike storage.

Parking validation

Meeting planners can arrange validation through their Event Manager, normally 30 days ahead. Validation has no in/out privileges and does not guarantee a space.

Accessible garage route matters in Seattle weather

Current accessible parking and route details
GarageADA spacesRoute detail
Arch16Blue Level, end of Aisle F. No elevator inside the garage; use blue ramp into SCC Level 3, then the accessible elevator near Room 310.
Summit18Six per level across three levels, located near elevators.
Freeway Park16Four per level. Elevator to PARK Level, then cross uncovered Freeway Park Plaza to SCC Level 4.

Late-event conflict: SCC’s dedicated Parking page says Freeway Park closes at 8 PM daily; a broader Guidelines page still contains an older 10 PM weekday line. Use the dedicated parking page and posted garage hours as the current operational reference.

MAP & ENTRANCES

Seattle Convention Center Map: Use the Right Pin

Searching only “Seattle Convention Center” can route you to the wrong side of the campus. If your event says Summit, navigate to 900 Pine St. If it says Arch, start with 705 Pike St or your organizer’s exact door.

TRANSIT

Link Light Rail to Seattle Convention Center

Westlake is a practical downtown Link station for the SCC district. Sound Transit is the current fare source: the regular adult one-way fare on the 1 and 2 Lines is $3.

Adult 19–64$3 one-way

Current flat Link fare.

ORCA LIFT$1

Qualifying low-income adult fare.

Senior / disabled$1

With qualifying RRFP.

Youth 18 & underFree

Sound Transit youth fare.

Stale fare warning: SCC’s Getting Here page still shows an older distance-based $2.25–$3.25 adult range. Sound Transit’s current fare page lists $3 flat adult fare, so use Sound Transit when values conflict.

August-only option: 3-Day PugetPass

Through August 31, 2026, ORCA is selling a promotional three-day regional pass: $18 adult or $6 ORCA LIFT / RRFP senior / disabled. It activates on the next tap, runs for three consecutive days, and expires at 3 AM after day three. It is best suited to visitors expecting more than two covered transit rides per day for three days.

  • You need a plastic ORCA card or an eligible digital ORCA card on Android/Google Wallet.
  • An adult plastic ORCA card costs $3 in addition to the pass.
  • The pass covers participating trips up to the pass value; some premium services can require extra E-purse value.
  • Each traveler needs their own payment method; one tap is for one person.

HOTELS

Seattle Convention Center Hotels: Choose for Arch or Summit

Visit Seattle currently describes 65+ hotels in the downtown core and roughly 7,000 rooms within an 11-block radius of Seattle Convention Center. That density means “closest hotel” is less useful than “closest to my building and morning schedule.”

Hotel decision guide — no volatile nightly rates

Other downtown hotelsVisit Seattle lists nearly 17,000 rooms across walkable downtown.Use its Arch/Summit proximity tool instead of choosing only by hotel star rating.

Hotel scam protection: for conferences with official housing blocks, use the organizer’s housing link. Industry meetings can warn attendees against unsolicited “housing companies” that request credit-card details. A room being near SCC does not make a third-party housing solicitation official.

Conference housing warning: use the housing link supplied by your own event organizer when a room block exists. Current AOFAS/IFFAS 2026 housing guidance explicitly warns attendees not to give personal or card details to unsolicited alternative housing vendors—an example of why event-specific housing links matter.

PUBLIC HOURS ≠ EVENT HOURS

Source conflict handled: SCC’s Campus page currently displays Summit as 8 AM–10 PM, while its Visitor page and detailed Guidelines state 6 AM–10 PM for the Summit Market Lobby. This guide uses the more specific Guidelines/Visitor wording and keeps the distinction between public lobby hours and event-space hours.

ACCESSIBILITY

Accessible Entrances, Parking, Elevators and Mobility Support

SCC says its public areas, lobbies, exhibit halls, ballrooms and meeting rooms are ADA accessible. The official Accessibility Guide adds entrance-level detail that is easy to miss on normal venue pages.

SummitThree pedestrian entrances, each with at least one push-button automatic door. Pine Plaza has ramps/stairs; 9th Avenue and Olive Way entrances provide elevator access to Level 1.Useful when stairs, weather or a specific elevator approach matters.

PDF freshness rule: SCC’s Accessibility Guide is dated 2023. Its entrance/navigation details remain useful, but this page uses the current SCC Parking page for 2026 accessible-space counts and garage operating details.

Mobility device warning

SCC does not provide wheelchairs or other mobility devices to attendees except in a medical emergency. Ask SCC/event staff in advance for rental referrals if needed.

Assisted listening & stage access

Assisted-listening/hearing devices are available by advance request. Stage ramps and wheelchair lifts are subject to availability and advance coordination.

Plan special requirements early

SCC asks planners to advise the Event Manager of special accessibility considerations at least 30 days ahead when possible.

Service animals

ADA service animals are permitted. Other animals in event space require advance written approval when legitimately needed for an exhibit/activity.

SMALL DETAILS THAT MATTER

Wi-Fi, Cashless Payments, Food Rules, Restrooms and Lost & Found

Complimentary Wi-Fi

SCC provides complimentary Wi-Fi in lobbies and meeting rooms. Visitor guidance describes the public connection as 1 Mbps per connection, intended for basic browsing, email, texting and social media.

Cashless facility

SCC is cashless, although individual retailers may accept cash. A cash-to-card self-service kiosk is listed on Level 1 near the Convention Place entrance.

Outside food

SCC’s event guidelines say outside food or beverage may not be brought in for consumption by guests, exhibitors, attendees or show staff. Event-approved sampling has separate rules.

Lost & found

Found items are logged with Security Control. Note the building, level, room and approximate time before contacting the appropriate Arch or Summit security desk.

Other venue-use details that can save a trip back outside

Gender-neutral restroomsArch has two near Hall 4C on Level 4; Summit lists gender-neutral restrooms on Level EX and Levels 2–4.
Coat / luggage checkStaffed coat check is an SCC-exclusive service arranged through event planning. Complimentary self-service coat racks may be requested; unclaimed items go to Lost & Found.
Children during move-in/outChildren under 16 are not allowed on the show floor during move-in and move-out.
Food serviceAramark is SCC’s exclusive catering/concession provider; public retail outlets are independently operated and hours can vary.
EXHIBITOR ROUTES

Seattle Convention Center Exhibitor Move-In, Docks and Hand-Carried Freight

Attendee parking is not a freight plan. Show Management establishes HCF hours, and your exhibitor manual should override generic venue routing when it gives show-specific instructions.

Summit HCF1009 Olive Way via Summit Garage8′4″ at Level 1 HCF; standard full-size vans onlyNo trailers; route serves Summit levels/areas.

Hall-assignment conflict: SCC’s dedicated Docks & Freight page and broader Guidelines page currently reverse which Arch North/South HCF area “typically” serves some halls. Because show routing can also change, this guide intentionally does not tell you to pick an HCF entrance from hall name alone. Use your current show manual or Show Management instruction.

  • HCF loading/unloading has a strict one-hour time limit.
  • Trailers cannot be accommodated in HCF areas.
  • SCC cannot accept exhibitor deliveries for you; follow the show’s freight/general-service-contractor instructions.
  • Complimentary flatbed carts can be available first come, first served during published HCF hours.
  • Smart City is SCC’s exclusive data/telecom provider; Edlen is exclusive for supplemental/temporary electrical and air/water/drain; Encore is exclusive for ballroom rigging.

Standard services planners may otherwise budget twice

  • Complimentary Wi-Fi in common areas and meeting rooms for general web access.
  • Two 20-amp, 120-volt outlets in each meeting room at no charge; additional show-management booth allowance is described in the guide.
  • Two complimentary one-time SCC garage passes per event on request, with no in/out privileges.
  • Initial meeting-room set is generally included; late changes can trigger fees.
  • Arch provides specified meeting-room linens; Summit is generally linenless except dining-table service.

Contract comes first: SCC’s Event Planning Guide says detailed event planning does not begin until the License Agreement is signed and executed. Your actual contract and Event Manager override this reference timeline.

VERIFIED CERTIFICATION

Summit LEED Platinum and Arch LEED Silver

SCC officially announced that Summit earned LEED Platinum under the U.S. Green Building Council LEED New Construction v3 rating system. The same official SCC announcement says Arch at 705 Pike holds LEED Silver for Operations and Maintenance and Arch at 800 Pike holds LEED Silver for sustainable construction practices, furnishings and equipment.
