Where Is the Greater Columbus Convention Center?

The Greater Columbus Convention Center occupies a major section of North High Street in downtown Columbus, between the Arena District and Short North Arts District.

Its location gives visitors access to restaurants, hotels, bars, shopping and entertainment, including Nationwide Arena and the surrounding Arena District.

South Side

Located toward Nationwide Boulevard and the southern portion of High Street. It provides access to the Union Station Ballroom, South Atrium, South Café and some connected hotels.

North Side

Located toward Goodale Street and the Short North area. This side is useful for the North Atrium, some exhibit-hall entrances and nearby parking.

Most useful arrival tip: The convention center stretches across several blocks. Your assigned hall or registration entrance determines which garage and entrance are most convenient. Do not choose parking based only on the building’s main address.

Columbus Convention Center Events & Tickets

The venue hosts professional conferences, trade shows, consumer exhibitions, competitions and public events. Some programs require a conference badge; others sell one-day tickets or offer free admission.

Selected Confirmed Events

EventPublished dateVisitor information
Buy Vet Business Expo October 23, 2026 Veteran-business entrepreneurship event; listed as free and open to the public.
SingUnited International Convention & Competition October 26–31, 2026 International singing competition and convention activities.
Ohio Housing Conference November 30–December 2, 2026 Welcome reception November 30; main conference sessions December 1–2.

These are selected organizer-confirmed events, not the complete venue calendar. The official calendar may add or modify event listings, and organizers control admission and registration.

Event timing matters: The venue’s general calendar may load events dynamically. Do not rely on an undated or archived listing. Verify the year, event organizer, hall and ticket status before making travel plans.

How to Find Upcoming Events

  1. Open the official event calendar.
  2. Find the current month and select your event.
  3. Check the organizer, dates and assigned room or hall.
  4. Determine whether admission is public, registration-only or restricted to industry attendees.
  5. Review ticket prices, badge pickup and ID requirements.
  6. Complete registration through the event organizer’s authorized booking system.
  7. Save the confirmation and check for updated entry instructions before traveling.
Event security example: The October 2026 SingUnited organizer announced metal-detector screening for entry into Exhibit Halls A and B. This illustrates why event-specific security instructions are essential rather than relying on general building rules.

Columbus Convention Center Parking Rates & Garage Addresses

The convention center has six on-site or adjoining parking facilities. Parking is generally paid, with variable rates for short visits and special event parking.

Current parking price: The venue’s active parking page lists a $25 standard event charge, potentially rising to $30 for premium events. An older attendee page still lists $15 garage event parking. Treat that older figure as outdated unless confirmed for your exact event.

Which Parking Garage Should You Choose?

Ohio Center Garage

Useful for Battelle-related events and visitors who prefer a weather-protected connection. It offers an enclosed pedestrian link to the convention center.

Goodale Garage

Convenient for North Atrium and events toward the northern portion of the building. A protected pedestrian connection is shown on the official floor map.

South Garage

Convenient to the Nationwide Boulevard and southern entrance area. Its 6-foot-4-inch clearance makes vehicle height particularly important.

East Surface Lot

Important for buses, box trucks and vehicles exceeding garage height or standard parking-space limits. Oversized parking has separate pricing.

Parking Rules Visitors Often Miss

  • Event parking generally does not permit free in-and-out re-entry.
  • A vehicle occupying two spaces can be charged for both.
  • Vehicles staying past 6 AM following an event entry may incur additional charges.
  • Oversized vehicles must use designated facilities and arrangements.
  • Accessible parking is available but first come, first served.
  • Prepaid parking is tied to the chosen facility and reservation conditions.
Oversized vehicle warning: The venue directs buses, trailers and other oversized vehicles to the East Surface Lot. Its posted oversized policy uses a per-space/per-day calculation and includes minimum charges. Arrange this before arriving with a bus or trailer.

How to Reserve Parking

  1. Open the official parking information.
  2. Identify the garage closest to your event hall.
  3. Check vehicle clearance and any special event rate.
  4. Open the advance parking reservation option.
  5. Choose the event date, garage and entry period.
  6. Confirm the final price before payment.
  7. Save the parking QR code or receipt.
  8. Use the exact garage GPS address when driving.

Level 2

Includes the Connector, additional meeting spaces and upper meeting-room pods.

Level 3

Provides access to Battelle Grand Ballroom and other upper-level event facilities.

Level 4

Includes the Battelle Mezzanine area, which may be relevant for specific sessions and functions.

Find the right room faster: An event in Hall B is different from one in Battelle Grand Ballroom or an upper-level A-Pod meeting room. Read the room name and level on your agenda before choosing an entrance.

How to Use the Official Floor Map

  1. Download the official floor-plan PDF.
  2. Locate your assigned exhibit hall or meeting room.
  3. Identify the nearest North Atrium, South Atrium or relevant meeting-room entrance.
  4. Note the location of elevators and escalators if changing floors.
  5. Check which garage has the most convenient walkway connection.
  6. Keep the floor plan available offline in case mobile reception is busy.

Hotels Connected to Columbus Convention Center

The convention center is particularly convenient for overnight guests because several downtown hotels have enclosed or connected access. This helps conference attendees avoid unnecessary driving, especially in winter or rainy weather.

Hotel Options Near the Convention Center

HotelLocation or connectionWhy consider it
Hyatt Regency Columbus 350 N. High Street Directly connected; convenient for multi-day conference attendees.
Hilton Columbus Downtown 402 N. High Street and connected hotel complex Enclosed pedestrian links and proximity to Short North.
Drury Plaza Hotel Columbus Downtown 88 E. Nationwide Boulevard Convenient convention district location and enclosed connection.
Sonesta Columbus Downtown 33 E. Nationwide Boulevard Downtown hotel option near the convention center’s south side.
Hampton Inn & Suites Columbus-Downtown 501 N. High Street Near North Atrium and Short North-side conference activities.
Canopy by Hilton Columbus Downtown 77 E. Nationwide Boulevard Downtown stay near convention activity, dining and Arena District.
Booking distinction: Connected hotels are not the same as hotels merely located nearby. Also, an enclosed connection may lead through a specific section or level of a hotel. Ask for the route to your assigned event hall.

How to Choose a Hotel

  1. Check whether your conference has an official discounted room block.
  2. Compare connected hotels against nearby alternatives.
  3. Choose based on the hall where most of your sessions will occur.
  4. Compare the final rate, taxes, parking and breakfast.
  5. Check cancellation policies and convention-room-block deadlines.
  6. Confirm the hotel’s exact enclosed walkway and accessible route when needed.
Money-saving possibility: A slightly higher room rate at a connected hotel can be worthwhile if you can avoid renting a car or paying for multiple daily transfers. Compare your total trip cost instead of nightly room prices alone.

For another example of convention hotel access, see our Hyatt Regency Portland convention hotel guide, where the hotel is across from the venue rather than part of the Columbus connected-hotel network.

Columbus Airport to the Convention Center

John Glenn Columbus International Airport (CMH) is the area’s main commercial airport. The convention center is accessible using Interstate 670, taxis, rideshare or public transit.

Taxi or Rideshare

Best for: Visitors traveling with luggage or arriving on a tight schedule.

Enter 400 N. High Street or your hotel’s exact address. Airport demand and downtown event traffic can affect the fare and travel time.

Rental Car

Best for: Visitors attending meetings in suburban Columbus or traveling beyond downtown.

Add hotel parking and convention-center garage charges to the rental cost.

COTA Public Transportation

Best for: Travelers prioritizing lower transportation costs.

Check the current Central Ohio Transit Authority route serving CMH, downtown stops and any transfers. The historical AirConnect name should not be assumed to mean a currently operating dedicated shuttle.

Walking After Arrival

Best for: Guests staying in the Arena District, Short North or immediately connected downtown hotels.

The surrounding neighborhood has many walkable destinations, but weather and exact hotel location matter.

Driving From CMH

  1. Leave John Glenn Columbus International Airport following signs toward I-670 West.
  2. Continue west toward downtown Columbus.
  3. Take Exit 4B for the convention-center area.
  4. Follow current traffic signage and the route to your selected garage.
  5. Park at the reserved facility rather than stopping at the main venue address.
Transport update: Older venue pages mention AirConnect. Check the current COTA trip planner before relying on a specific airport shuttle or bus route, particularly for evening arrivals.
