How to Find Event Tickets, Badges & Admission Hours

A public consumer event and a professional convention can use completely different ticketing systems, even when both are hosted in the same building.

  1. Find the exact event name. Check your invitation, email, ticket or organizer’s website.
  2. Match the venue. Confirm it says New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.
  3. Check eligibility. Some events are public, while others are open only to registered professionals, exhibitors or invited delegates.
  4. Check the date and entry time. Setup dates may appear in convention schedules without being public admission days.
  5. Find the assigned hall or meeting room. This matters when choosing parking, rideshare drop-off and hotel location.
  6. Complete the authorized transaction. Use the organizer’s official ticket seller or registration portal.
  7. Save the ticket and entry rules. Keep your badge instructions, confirmation and any required photo ID accessible.
Visitor tip: If you cannot find ticket prices on the main venue website, it usually means the individual event organizer controls tickets. Do not assume that every event is free simply because the venue does not list an admission charge.

New Orleans Convention Center Parking: $23 Daily Rate & Best Lots

  2. Choose an appropriate public lot. Lots F and G are highlighted in the venue’s current driving instructions.
  3. Check ParkMobile before arrival. Open the official parking page for its reservation and payment link.
  4. Choose the correct date and parking session. Verify the lot and vehicle category before paying.
  5. Follow traffic staff and posted signs. Specific lots may be allocated to an event.
  6. Save your payment and space location. Return through the correct pedestrian exit.

Which New Orleans Convention Center Entrance Should You Use?

This building is unusually long. Knowing your hall number is more useful than navigating only to the main mailing address.

Main public entrance

Julia Street / Great Hall

900 Convention Center Boulevard

Main pedestrian access near the Great Hall and Julia Street end of the facility.

Transportation entrance

Lobby G

The designated taxi and rideshare area connects via a pedestrian crossing at Calliope Street into Lobby G.

Useful if arriving by taxi or app-based rideshare.

South hall visitor

Halls H, I & J

Check the official event directions and south parking lots. Walking from the Julia Street end may be less convenient for these halls.

Exhibitor freight

Organizer-assigned access

Freight and loading routes are controlled by your show’s contractor. The general public entrance is not the correct freight destination.

Rideshare and taxi: what to enter

Use the venue’s designated Taxi/Rideshare Zone near 400 Calliope Street, rather than asking a driver to stop at an arbitrary door along Convention Center Boulevard.

  1. Set the pickup/drop-off point. Use the event’s approved rideshare location at Calliope Street.
  2. Follow the marked pedestrian crossing. Cross Calliope Street at the designated route.
  3. Enter Lobby G. Follow indoor directional signage toward your hall or registration point.
  4. For return pickup, use the same designated zone. Confirm live staff instructions after the event.
Exhibitor deliveries: The permanent venue receiving address, 101 Henderson Street, is for non-event deliveries. Freight for a convention or show must follow its current exhibitor pack; do not send event shipments to that address automatically.

New Orleans Convention Center Map & Driving Directions

The venue is situated along the Mississippi Riverfront in the Warehouse/Arts District, close to the Riverwalk, Julia Street and downtown New Orleans.

Driving from Interstate 10

  1. Follow I-10 toward US-90 Business/Westbank. The venue lists Exit 234A from I-10 West or Exit 234C from I-10 East.
  2. Use Exit 11 toward Tchoupitoulas / South Peters Street.
  3. Follow Tchoupitoulas Street toward Henderson Street.
  4. Follow the current Lot G signs and access route. The venue’s published instructions include a turn at Henderson Street and a return toward the designated lot entrance.
  5. Check construction and event traffic controls. Do not enter an exhibitor-only driveway or freight dock.

From Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport (MSY)

Airport transfers are available through taxi, app-based rideshare, rental cars and public transportation. Traffic, group shuttles and luggage can affect the most practical option.

For public transit, New Orleans RTA operates Airport Express Route 202. Check whether the stop and transfer pattern suits your hotel or convention entrance; an airport bus may not stop directly at the event door.

Riverfront Streetcar, Airport Bus & Local Transport

Visitors staying in downtown New Orleans can often reach the convention area without a rental car, especially if their hotel is near the riverfront or Julia Street.

Riverfront connection

RTA Line 49 Streetcar

The Riverfront streetcar serves the corridor from the French Market to Julia Street, including areas near Riverwalk, Hilton Riverside and the Convention Center.

Check current stops, fare and service alerts before traveling.

Airport connection

RTA Airport Express 202

Route 202 provides a public transportation option between the airport area and New Orleans.

Verify your boarding stop, connections, operating schedule and luggage needs before depending on it.

When should you walk instead of taking transit?

Starting pointPractical decision
Hotel directly opposite your assigned hallWalking may be simplest.
Hotel near Julia StreetWalk or compare Riverfront Streetcar service for the northern end.
Hotel near the French QuarterCompare walking, streetcar and rideshare based on luggage and weather.
Hotel near the airportAirport transport or rideshare may be more practical than repeated long transit connections.

Exhibit Hall Layout, Great Hall & Meeting Rooms

The New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center is a large single-level exhibition venue, with additional meeting and ballroom spaces. The official floor-plan document identifies multiple halls extending along the riverfront campus.

Major hall dimensions from the official plan

Hall / spacePublished floor area
Great Hall60,300 sq ft
Hall B153,232 sq ft
Hall B266,257 sq ft
Hall C104,862 sq ft
Hall D103,365 sq ft
Hall E127,364 sq ft
Hall F126,887 sq ft
Hall G91,451 sq ft
Hall H109,200 sq ft
Hall I150,400 sq ft
Hall I241,959 sq ft
Hall J91,080 sq ft

These are the individual room measurements on the venue’s September 2025 floor plan. Do not add them together as if each area were a completely separate marketed exhibition hall: subdivided halls and event configurations can overlap.

Great Hall / Julia Street end

Useful reference for visitors whose event uses the Great Hall or north-side convention registration.

Halls B–F

Large exhibition and conference spaces along the central/northern section of the campus. Use the event’s actual lobby instruction.

Halls G–J

South-side exhibition areas that may make Lot F/G parking and Lobby G transportation more relevant.

Meeting rooms and ballroom areas

The venue has approximately 140 meeting rooms and multiple large session spaces. Look up the full letter-and-number room label.

How to locate your hall quickly

  1. Check the ticket or event app. Note your hall, room and registration desk.
  2. Open the official floor-plan PDF. Locate the hall relative to Convention Center Boulevard and the nearest lobby.
  3. Choose your arrival mode. Walking from a hotel may be easier near Julia Street, while Lot F/G serves the southern campus.
  4. Identify your route inside. Follow convention signage to your assigned hall.
  5. Ask event staff before changing entrances. Some organizers restrict public access to selected doors.

Hotels Near New Orleans Convention Center: Which Area Is Best?

New Orleans has a large hotel supply around the Warehouse District, Riverwalk and nearby downtown neighborhoods. The most important hotel factor is the distance from your assigned hall, not just the venue’s general address.

Choose your hotel by assigned hall

Near Great Hall / Julia Street

Riverwalk & North Warehouse District

Compare Hilton Riverside, Embassy Suites and nearby Convention Center Boulevard hotels. Check the exact walking route rather than relying on a hotel-to-venue distance estimate.

Central or south hall sessions

Convention Center Boulevard Hotels

Marriott Warehouse Arts District, Hyatt Place and Hampton Inn & Suites can be convenient starting points. Confirm whether your hall is actually nearest their section of the campus.

Dining and nightlife

French Quarter Hotels

A possible choice for visitors prioritizing restaurants and entertainment, but the convention commute can be longer. Check transport and late-night return plans.

Cost comparison

Downtown & CBD Hotels

May offer more price and room-type options. Include transportation, hotel taxes and parking when comparing total trip cost.

Hotel booking checklist

  • Ask whether the convention organizer has an official hotel room block.
  • Compare total nightly costs, taxes and hotel parking charges.
  • Check walking distance to your specific convention hall.
  • Review cancellation and deposit policies.
  • Confirm breakfast, accessibility and room amenities as needed.
  • Do not assume a hotel includes convention admission.
  • Be cautious of unofficial housing agents claiming to represent a conference.

For a separate, more detailed comparison of hall-based parking and lodging, see our Ernest N. Morial Convention Center parking and hotels guide.

Dining locations are listed on the venue’s official amenities page. Opening times, available outlets and menus depend on the event.

Exhibitors: Deliveries, Loading Docks & Internet

Trade-show exhibitors should not use normal visitor parking or rideshare instructions for equipment deliveries.

Freight distinction: The permanent receiving entrance at 101 Henderson Street is not automatically your event’s loading address. Each exhibition’s general contractor may require a different marshalling yard, delivery label and check-in schedule.

Before sending booth materials

  1. Obtain the exhibitor manual. Look for shipping labels, booth number and move-in schedule.
  2. Confirm the general contractor. Follow the contractor’s assigned marshaling procedure.
  3. Review freight dimensions. Verify door clearance, equipment weight and rigging needs.
  4. Order event utilities. Arrange electrical, Internet, water and other required services before the deadline.
  5. Confirm insurance and safety rules. Contractors and equipment may require additional approvals.
  6. Use the correct loading entrance. Do not send trucks to the passenger entrance or Lobby G.

For venue-specific shipping arrangements, contact Campus Logistics at 504-582-3193 or parking@mccno.com.
