Use the Right Map, Price Check and Convention Route Before You Arrive
Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center is at 2800 Opryland Drive in Nashville, Tennessee. It is both a large hotel resort and a multi-level convention complex, so the useful planning question is not simply “where is it?”—it is which level, room, atrium, parking choice and event entrance do I need?
This guide turns the current Marriott pages and meeting-planner PDF into practical directions for hotel guests, convention attendees, exhibitors, families and day visitors.
Quick facts for an August 2026 visit
Use event-specific instructions when they differChoose the plan that matches your visit
Save the full room name
Do not stop at “Ryman” or “Delta.” Save the room, level, registration point and first-session time before you enter the property.
Price the full stay
Compare the live room rate with taxes, resort fee shown at checkout, parking, meals and any ticketed activities.
Follow the show manual
Public hotel directions are not freight instructions. Use the organizer’s load-in window, dock assignment, parcel rules and utility deadlines.
Verify admission before promising it
Marriott states that room-only reservations do not include guaranteed SoundWaves admission.
Location: Nashville, not Washington, DC
The resort is in the Opryland / Music Valley area of Nashville, Tennessee. Marriott lists the property at 2800 Opryland Drive, Nashville, TN 37214 and links its map to approximately 36.2107115, -86.6968214. Nashville International Airport is listed at about 8.3 miles away.
If you searched “Gaylord Opryland DC”: that mixes up two separate Gaylord properties. Opryland is in Nashville. Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center is the Gaylord property in National Harbor, Maryland, serving the Washington, DC area.
Use this map to reach the property. Once onsite, switch to the official resort map or Gaylord Hotels app for indoor routing.
What the official resort and convention map actually tells you
The 34-page meeting-planning guide is useful because it separates the convention center into Mezzanine Level M, Main Level 2 and Exhibition Level 0 and also shows the resort-side atriums. Its legend includes elevators, escalators, accessible routes, taxi/rideshare, shuttles, Hertz rental, EV chargers, restrooms, ATM, business center and AED locations.
1. Start with the level, then the room
| Level / area | Major spaces shown | How to use this detail |
|---|---|---|
| Exhibition Level 0 | Ryman Exhibit Halls, Ryman Ballroom, Ryman Studios | Important for expos, large general sessions and exhibitor load-in. Confirm the exact hall/studio number. |
| Main Level 2 | Tennessee, Volunteer, Davidson and Delta Ballrooms | Save the ballroom name plus your registration desk or pre-function area. |
| Mezzanine Level M | Magnolia, Volunteer and Delta mezzanine/conference areas | Use the app rather than guessing whether a nearby staircase actually reaches your room. |
| Resort atriums | Cascades, Garden Conservatory, Delta, Magnolia | Useful as meetup zones for rooms, dining and attractions—but they are not substitutes for a meeting-room name. |
2. Pay attention to “Does Not Connect”
The official map legend explicitly includes “Does Not Connect.” That is a practical warning: two areas that look close on a large map may not have a direct indoor path on the same level. If walking distance matters, use the app’s step-by-step directions rather than drawing your own route from the map.
3. Save emergency and service points before a busy conference day
Best navigation move: download the free Gaylord Hotels Resort App before arriving. The current planning guide specifically promotes it for step-by-step resort directions and current resort happenings.
What is happening now and next?
Current check: August 18, 2026. MaximoWorld is scheduled at Gaylord Opryland this week, August 17–20. ILTACON follows August 23–27, and NTOA’s Law Enforcement Operations Conference runs August 30–September 4.
| Event | Dates | Useful current detail | What visitors should verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| MaximoWorld 2026 | Aug 17–20 | Happening this week | Session/expo access, badge pickup and organizer room assignments. |
| ILTACON 2026 | Aug 23–27 | Official ILTA housing block is closed / sold out in current notices | Use official ILTA housing guidance; be cautious with unsolicited third-party housing brokers. |
| NTOA Law Enforcement Operations Conference | Aug 30–Sep 4 | Official NTOA page confirms Gaylord Opryland | Exhibitors have move-in periods before exhibit hours; attendees should use the NTOA schedule. |
Event rule: this venue guide does not treat a hotel/convention calendar as a ticket source. Registration, badge rules, exhibitor times, room blocks and cancellations belong to the event organizer.
SummerFest is still relevant—but the fireworks dates are not
Current Marriott experiences information lists All-American SummerFest through September 7, 2026. The published fireworks schedule ended with the August 1 date, so an August visitor should not assume Saturday fireworks are still running. This is exactly the kind of seasonal detail that becomes misleading when an old promotion is left unchanged.
Future seasonal note: Marriott is already advertising its Christmas season, including ICE! featuring “Home Alone,” for November 6, 2026 through January 2, 2027. Treat that as future planning—not as a current August attraction.
Prices: separate fixed charges from dynamic prices
There is no meaningful single “Gaylord Opryland price.” Room rates change by date, room type, convention demand, package and eligibility. Parking is simpler because Marriott currently publishes daily self-parking and valet rates.
| Cost | Current / reference figure | Status | What it means |
|---|---|---|---|
| Regular room | Dynamic | Changes by date / room / package | Use Marriott availability for the exact stay. Do not treat a Google/OTA snapshot as a permanent “average price.” |
| Military appreciation offer | Starting from $229+ per night | Eligibility and date restrictions apply | Valid military ID required; Marriott notes blackout dates, resort fee and other terms may apply. |
| Teacher appreciation offer | Starting from $229+ per night | Eligibility and date restrictions apply | Valid ID required; availability and other terms apply. |
| Self parking | $37/day + tax | Current Marriott hotel detail | Event or group arrangements can differ; check your organizer before paying separately. |
| Valet | $55/day + tax | Current Marriott hotel detail | Compare convenience against self-parking for luggage, mobility and tight schedules. |
| Convention space | Proposal / contract | No universal public rental price | Space, food/beverage, A/V, labor and setup needs drive the proposal. |
Full-stay check: compare room rate + taxes + resort fee shown for your booking + parking + meals + ticketed activities. Search-result prices are date-specific and can change quickly.
Parking, EV charging and the best arrival decision
Marriott currently lists on-site self parking at $37/day and valet at $55/day, both subject to tax, plus electric-car charging. It does not publish a single convention-wide parking discount that applies to every event.
Self parking
Best when you want the lower published hotel parking rate and do not mind walking with bags or convention materials.
Valet
Worth comparing when mobility, luggage, formalwear or a tight event start makes convenience more valuable than the price difference.
Event block / organizer
Always check your conference materials first. Some groups negotiate parking or provide special arrival instructions that are not universal hotel policy.
Do not promise a parking total before tax or event terms. The official hotel page says parking prices are subject to tax, and a conference may have its own arrangement.
Convention space: what the live page and PDF mean
Marriott’s live events page currently lists 92 event rooms, 766,718 square feet of total event space, a 10,000-person largest-space headline and 106 breakout rooms. The current planner PDF separately lists about 758,911 square feet of meeting space and about 262,772 square feet of exhibition space. Those are different reporting categories, so they should not be added together or presented as a contradiction.
Capacity rule from the official PDF: room capacities are maximum reference figures with no staging or A/V. Staging and audiovisual needs reduce usable capacity. A published maximum is not a guaranteed final room setup.
Ryman Exhibit Hall: the exhibitor-critical details
| Detail | Current official figure | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Total exhibit-hall footprint | 263,772 sq ft | Large enough that hall letter/section matters for attendee routing and freight. |
| Hall A | 150,746 sq ft | Includes A1 and A2; the PDF publishes separate load-in and registration details. |
| Hall B | 113,026 sq ft | The live Marriott page uses a 10,000-person largest-space headline; setup changes usable capacity. |
| Covered loading docks | 17 | Exhibitors should use organizer-assigned docks/windows, not public hotel entrances. |
| Utilities | Electricity and water throughout | Order show services before deadlines rather than assuming utilities are automatically included. |
| 10×10 booth reference | Room for 1,442 booths on live Marriott page | Useful scale reference; actual show floor plan determines booth inventory. |
| Floor load | 1,000 lb/sq ft shown in PDF for major hall areas | Relevant to heavy exhibits, but final approval belongs to venue/show operations. |
One PDF detail planners should not miss
The capacity chart notes that Ryman Hall B2 cannot be used independently and must be used with B1 or B3. This is the kind of layout constraint that a generic “263,772 sq ft” summary does not reveal.
Ballrooms and breakout choices
| Space | Current official detail | Best planning use |
|---|---|---|
| Delta Ballroom | 55,314 sq ft; 63×40 ft theatrical stage; 3 dressing rooms; registration offices/desks; direct vehicle access | Large general sessions, productions and events that need substantial pre-function/registration infrastructure. |
| Davidson Ballroom | Over 18,000 sq ft; registration office; direct vehicle access | Mid-large meetings close to other ballroom functions. |
| Tennessee Ballroom | Just over 18,000 sq ft; 40×20 ft permanent stage; registration offices; direct vehicle access | Programs that benefit from built-in stage and nearby business-center access. |
| Magnolia Conference Rooms | 20 rooms, 380–5,680 sq ft | Breakouts that need a range of room sizes. |
| Ryman Studios | Individual rooms roughly 554–601 sq ft; combinations up to ~1,733 sq ft | Breakouts close to Ryman Ballroom/general sessions. |
| Delta Island / conference rooms | Smaller rooms 12–160; larger combinations up to 550 | Breakouts near Delta Ballroom with dining/networking nearby. |
Exhibitor logistics: docks, packages, printing and last-minute fixes
For exhibitors, the most useful official details are operational. Marriott lists Freeman, Encore and the on-site FedEx Office among event-service resources, while the Ryman hall has 17 covered loading docks plus electricity and water access.
FedEx Office / business center details
The on-site FedEx Office is listed next to the Volunteer Ballroom. Marriott says it supports large-document reproduction, printing and bindery service, plus 24-hour self-service printing and copying. The staffed center is listed as open daily 6:00 AM–9:00 PM, and the current contact number is 615-391-0381.
Package warning: Marriott states that receiving and handling fees are assessed for inbound and outbound packages. Ask the FedEx Office and your event organizer about current fees before sending multiple boxes, pallets or time-critical material.
Restaurants: choose by break length, not by a long list
Marriott’s current dining page names 11 core on-property dining concepts and separately notes additional quick-service options. It also tells guests to check the pre-arrival email for date-specific schedules, automatically adds a 20% gratuity for parties of 6+, and describes the resort dining experience as cashless.
| Situation | Good official options to check | Micro-tip |
|---|---|---|
| 10–20 minute breakfast / coffee | Delta Marketplace, Conservatory Cafe, Cocoa Bean | Choose the outlet closest to your session; crossing atriums can erase a short break. |
| Breakfast with more time | Cascades American Cafe | Marriott also lists breakfast at Delta Marketplace, Conservatory Cafe, Cocoa Bean and A la Carte for a fee. |
| Fast conference lunch | Delta Marketplace / nearby quick-service outlets | Check the day’s schedule before walking to a destination restaurant. |
| Business / special dinner | Old Hickory Steakhouse or Ravello | Reserve early during major conference weeks. |
| Large casual group / sports | Foundry Fieldhouse | Now open with 707 seats, 14 TVs, a large two-story LED screen, four bars and private/group areas. |
| Mexican / casual dinner | Solario Cantina | Confirm date-specific hours before building it into a session schedule. |
| SoundWaves lunch/dinner | Decibels | Marriott states Decibels is accessible with a SoundWaves wristband only. |
| Eat in your guest room | A la Carte | Marriott describes A la Carte as delivered in-room dining, even though its FAQ says traditional “room service” is not offered. |
Why that room-service wording looks inconsistent: Marriott’s FAQ says “room service is not offered,” while the same page describes A la Carte as meals delivered to guestrooms in to-go packaging. Treat A la Carte as the current in-room delivery option rather than assuming full traditional room service.
Photos: what to inspect before booking or attending
The official Marriott gallery currently contains exterior, guestrooms, SoundWaves, Delta/Cascades atriums, restaurants, ballrooms, Ryman Exhibit Hall and nearby attraction images. The useful way to use those photos is to match them to your trip—not to judge the entire property from one waterfall image.
Overnight stay
Compare standard rooms, atrium-view rooms and common areas. Then check the map because a beautiful atrium view does not tell you walking distance to sessions.
Conference
Look at Delta Ballroom, Magnolia spaces, Ryman Exhibit Hall and pre-function areas so event-room names feel familiar before arrival.
Family / leisure
Look at SoundWaves, atriums, pools and restaurants—but verify packages and seasonal access separately because a gallery image is not an admission promise.
Reviews: turn ratings into decisions
Search results are full of star scores, but this page does not create or schema-mark its own rating. Current major review platforms consistently give users enough volume to spot themes; the useful move is to filter those themes by your visit type.
| Your trip | Read recent reviews for | Verify officially after reading |
|---|---|---|
| Convention attendee | Walking time, room signage, elevator traffic, meeting-room temperature, food queues, parking flow | Room level, parking price, event registration and session locations |
| Hotel guest | Room condition, check-in wait, noise, housekeeping, total value, parking | Current rate, resort fee, parking and hotel policies |
| Family | SoundWaves expectations, pool use, walking, kid-friendly dining and crowding | Exact SoundWaves package and seasonal attraction schedule |
| Day / dinner visitor | Parking cost, restaurant wait, navigation and atrium crowding | Current dining schedule and any seasonal access restrictions |
Review pattern worth knowing: the resort’s atriums/facilities are a common strength in current review ecosystems, while price/value, parking and the amount of walking are more likely to divide visitors. That is why this guide focuses so heavily on route and full-trip cost.
Airport, local shuttle and nearby Opry attractions
Marriott lists Nashville International Airport at about 8.3 miles from the property and explicitly says the hotel does not provide airport shuttle service. Plan a rideshare, taxi, car service, rental car or transportation supplied by your event organizer.
| Trip | Current official detail | Planning advice |
|---|---|---|
| BNA → resort | 8.3 miles; no hotel airport shuttle | Compare direct ground transport before travel; do not rely on an old shuttle article. |
| On-property / Opry complex | Marriott lists a complimentary local shuttle | Use current resort information for loop hours because operating times can vary. |
| Grand Ole Opry | 2804 Opryland Dr, next to the resort area | It has separate tickets, entry/security and event times from your convention. |
| Opry Mills | Official planner map shows the walkway direction | Build walking/shuttle time into meal or shopping plans between sessions. |
| Downtown Nashville | Separate from the Opryland complex | Do not assume the complimentary complex shuttle is a universal downtown shuttle. |
SoundWaves: the access rule that prevents the biggest surprise
SoundWaves is a resort water attraction, not a standard amenity automatically attached to every room. Marriott currently states that the only guaranteed way to experience SoundWaves is a qualifying SoundWaves Experience Package and that room-only reservations do not include admission.
Before booking
Read the package name and admission language. Do not assume an atrium-view or standard resort room includes water-attraction entry.
Cabana
Current Marriott information says cabanas are for resort guests who have pre-purchased a SoundWaves experience.
Decibels dining
The dining page says this 230-seat restaurant is accessible with a SoundWaves wristband only.
Planner-PDF scale reference
The current meeting-planner guide describes SoundWaves as roughly 111,000 sq ft indoors plus 106,000 sq ft outdoors, with an indoor capacity reference of about 1,500 and a climate-controlled indoor temperature noted around 84°F. Treat seasonal outdoor availability separately.
Accessibility: “accessible” and “close” are not the same
Marriott currently lists accessible on-site and van parking, elevators, an accessible main entrance, accessible meeting spaces, accessible restaurants, accessible routes to pool/fitness/spa, service animals without a fee/documentation, mobility-accessible guestrooms and hearing-accessible rooms/kits.
Verified sustainability certification
Marriott currently lists the property as Green Key Eco-Rating Program Certified. The same hotel page also lists guest-room recycling and electric-car charging among current environmental/property features. This certification is included in the custom venue schema because it is both officially verified and visibly explained here.
