2026 Construction: What Is Open and What Is Closed?
Dallas is rebuilding and expanding the convention center as part of a larger downtown development program. The project is changing traffic, parking access, rail service and the layout of usable event spaces.
Buildings A, B and C
Remain available for events during different phases of construction. Individual room and hall availability is determined by the event schedule and venue operations.
Buildings D, E and F
Decommissioned as part of redevelopment. Visitors must not rely on outdated floor plans directing them to these buildings.
DART Convention Center Station
Closed to passenger boarding and exiting from January 5, 2026. Trains continue passing through, but the station cannot be used as a normal stop.
Roads and Pedestrian Routes
Construction may change road approaches, sidewalks, drop-off areas and loading routes. Follow event instructions and current signage.
Current Venue Versus Future Venue
| Topic | 2026 visitor information | Future development |
|---|---|---|
| Exhibit halls | Selected A/B/C spaces in operation | Reconfigured and expanded facilities |

| Future exhibit area | Not a current floor-plan figure | Approximately 750,000 sq. ft. planned |
| Future meeting rooms | Use current room specifications | Approximately 180,000 sq. ft. planned |
| Future ballroom | Use current available ballrooms | Approximately 105,000 sq. ft. planned |
| Overall future complex | Do not use for present-day navigation | Approximately 2.1 million sq. ft. planned |

DART Rail Closure: How to Reach the Convention Center Now
One of the biggest 2026 travel changes is the closure of DART’s Convention Center Station. The station closed to passenger access on January 5, 2026, because of reconstruction.
EBJ Union Station
An alternative rail destination for some visitors. Check DART’s current pedestrian routes and GoLink connection before traveling to the convention center.
Cedars Station
Another alternative rail stop during the station closure. Follow current DART guidance for onward travel.
Supplemental GoLink
DART operates a connector serving designated areas between EBJ Union Station, Cedars Station and the Marilla at Akard bus stop.
Rideshare and Taxi
The venue identifies Lower C Driveway, between Lamar and Griffin Streets, as a preferred accessible pickup/drop-off area, subject to event changes.
Public Transportation Planning
Review the station closure page.
Consider EBJ Union Station or Cedars depending on your origin and current service.
Check whether a GoLink trip or safe pedestrian route is appropriate for your mobility and luggage.
Construction can affect pedestrian routes and accessible approaches.
Current Floor Plans: Exhibit Halls A, B & C
During redevelopment, currently available hall specifications are more useful than old building-wide maps or conceptual 2030 drawings.
| Specification | Exhibit Hall B | Exhibit Hall C |
|---|---|---|
| Building | Building A/B | Building C |
| Level | Level 2 | Level 2 |
| Published area | 100,155 sq. ft. | 103,940 sq. ft. |
| Published capacity | 8,015 | 8,394 |
| Ceiling height | 35 ft. | 31–37 ft. |
| Floor load | 350 lb./sq. ft. | 350 lb./sq. ft. |
| 10×10-foot booths | Maximum 553 | Maximum 541 |
Published hall figures are planning specifications, not a guarantee of final permitted attendance or available booth count. Actual layout, access, utility requirements and capacities require event and venue approval.
Review official current floor plans before choosing your exhibition setup.
