Published standard rate

The operator publishes one daily parking rate. Payment is cashless, so bring a payment card or supported digital wallet.

Accessible parking

Up to 37 designated spaces

Accessible parking is provided near the North and East entrances. The published $10 rate applies to vehicles displaying disability placards or plates too.

Which parking lot should you use?

The official venue parking plan labels several different parking areas. The numbers below are the published map capacities, not a live count of available spaces.

LotPublished spacesPlanning detail
A111Southwest side, close to the Virginia Street frontage and main meeting-room area.
B386West parking complex near the meeting-room frontage.
B1269Part of the western parking area, near the pedestrian sky-bridge approach.
B296Western side near the Atlantis-side access.
C916Large northwest parking area beyond Peckham Lane.
E337East and northeast side of the convention building.
F41Small southeast-side parking area.

The official parking diagram also labels lots D and G but does not give them a capacity in its published space-count box. Parking gates and lot availability may be restricted for particular shows.

How to park without entering the wrong lot

  1. Find your event hall. Look for Hall 1–5, a meeting-room letter and number, or a ballroom assignment.
  2. Locate the correct parking side. Use the official parking PDF to match the event’s registration entrance with the surrounding lots.
  3. Follow the event’s gate instructions. The venue map identifies several gates. Do not assume every gate or lot is open for every event.
  4. Prepare cashless payment. Have a bank card or digital wallet ready.
  5. Save your parking location. Record the lot label and gate so you can find your vehicle after the show.
Exhibitors: Attendee parking is not the same as loading-dock access. If you are bringing freight, display equipment, trailers or large vehicles, use the exhibitor service manual and assigned move-in instructions rather than the general visitor parking route.

Address, Driving Directions & Public Transportation

The convention center is on South Virginia Street, south of downtown Reno and near the Atlantis Casino Resort area. It is approximately 2.1 miles from Reno-Tahoe International Airport and 2.3 miles from downtown Reno according to the venue’s published destination references.

From Reno-Tahoe International Airport

Use a taxi, rideshare, rental car or an appropriate RTC bus connection. The venue’s published airport distance is about 2.1 miles; travel time depends on traffic and routing.

Important: Airport distance does not mean a scheduled free airport shuttle is provided by the convention center.

From downtown Reno

South Virginia Street is the principal corridor connecting central Reno with the venue. Driving, rideshare and RTC Route 1 are practical options, depending on your starting location and luggage.

Local tip: During large events, allow extra time for signalized intersections and parking queues.

RTC bus service to the convention center

RTC Washoe Route 1 serves South Virginia Street and lists a stop specifically named S Virginia Street at Reno Sparks Convention Center. It connects the Meadowood Mall area with downtown Reno’s Fourth Street Station corridor.

  1. Find your origin. Determine whether you are starting at downtown Reno, Meadowood Mall or elsewhere on the RTC network.
  2. Choose Route 1. Use the correct inbound or outbound direction for your trip.
  3. Check the convention-center stop. Look for “S Virginia Street at Reno Sparks Convention Center” on the route timetable.
  4. Verify service notices. Temporary stop closures and detours can affect where you board.
  5. Plan the return trip. Check the last useful departure before the event finishes.

Official RTC Route 1 timetable and notices ↗

Bus fares, stop accessibility, operating hours and construction detours should be checked against RTC’s latest notice. The temporary closure notices published in October 2026 are a reason not to rely on an old screenshot of the timetable.

Convention Center Floor Plan: Halls, Meeting Rooms & Entrances

RSCC has a single-level configuration. Its five contiguous exhibit halls are supported by meeting rooms and a ballroom distributed across the venue. The event organizer may use only part of the building.

AreaFloor-plan sizeUseful for
Hall 173,108 sq ftLarge exhibition and competition layouts
Hall 2120,957 sq ftLarge trade-show configurations
Hall 360,348 sq ftShows, competitions and adjacent hall setups
Hall 469,890 sq ftAdditional contiguous exhibit space
Hall 549,290 sq ftExhibitions and flexible event setups
Ballroom29,716 sq ftGeneral sessions, receptions and banquets

Dimensions and room areas are transcribed from the official detailed floor-plan PDF. The plan also provides different theater, classroom, banquet and reception seating configurations for individual rooms.

Room numbers: how to read your event assignment

A-series rooms

The floor plan places the A meeting-room group near the western registration and ballroom approach. Look for labels such as A1–A20.

C and D rooms

These are situated around the ballroom and middle meeting-area corridors. Check the letter and room number together.

E and F rooms

Located nearer the eastern exhibit halls. F rooms sit around the Hall 3 and Hall 4 side of the plan.

Mezzanine rooms

M1–M6 appear as a separate mezzanine meeting-room group on the detailed floor plan. Check the accessible route if your session is assigned there.

Simple arrival rule: If your badge says “Hall 4,” your map should lead to the eastern exhibit area; if it says “A7” or another A-series room, start with the meeting-room section. Follow the organizer’s assigned entrance rather than assuming the nearest outside door is available for admission.

  • The venue identifies Medtech Services as an external option for rental arrangements.
  • Ask the event organizer about accessible spectator seating, seating configuration or other event-specific accommodations.

Bag Rules, Payments, Food & Lost and Found

Concert bag policy

The venue publishes a clear-bag policy for concerts. Requirements for trade shows and sports events may differ.

Generally permitted for concerts

  • Clear plastic, vinyl or PVC bags up to 12 × 6 × 12 inches.
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bags.
  • Small clutches up to 4.5 × 6.5 inches, after inspection.
  • Medically necessary items following inspection.

Items generally prohibited for concerts

  • Oversized bags, backpacks and duffel bags.
  • Weapons and fireworks.
  • Outside food, cans and bottles.
  • Coolers and certain recording equipment.
  • Other items restricted by venue security.
Event-specific exceptions: The venue describes exceptions for participant/coach sports bags, convention technical equipment and diaper bags accompanying an infant. Do not assume an exception permits unrestricted entry. Prohibited items cannot be stored at the venue.

Food and concession payments

Venue concession stands accept credit cards, debit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Do not plan to pay cash for concession purchases.

Concession availability, food selection, outside-food rules and service locations can vary by event. Large events may also set their own catering or exhibitor food policies.

The security office holds found property for up to 30 days, according to the venue. If you misplaced an item, contact the security office:

(775) 229-7629

When calling, provide the event name, date, approximate location, item description and contact details. Do not send sensitive identity or payment information unless requested through a verified process.

How to request event space

  1. Define your event. Prepare the event type, estimated attendance, preferred dates and required setup time.
  2. Select appropriate facilities. Use the floor plan to identify exhibit halls, ballroom space, breakout rooms and support areas.
  3. Prepare technical requirements. Include electrical, Internet, audiovisual, loading, staging, catering and accessibility needs.
  4. Contact the venue sales team. Email venuesales@visitrenotahoe.com or call (775) 827-7768.
  5. Review the quotation. Confirm space rental, mandatory services, move-in and move-out windows, insurance, cancellation terms and any extra charges before signing.

Suggested information for your booking inquiry

  • Event name and organization
  • Preferred and alternate dates
  • Expected attendees, exhibitors and staff
  • Number and size of meeting rooms needed
  • Exhibit hall or ballroom requirements
  • Electrical, AV, Internet and catering requests

There is no universally published flat rental price for every convention setup. Request a tailored proposal rather than relying on an unrelated event’s rental figure.

Nearby Hotels, Food & Local Visitor Planning

The convention center sits along South Virginia Street, a corridor with resort hotels, dining and shopping options. Hotel choice matters most when your event starts early, ends late or involves multiple days.

Hotel areas to consider

Virginia Street / Atlantis area

Useful for attendees who want to stay close to the convention building and reduce local travel. Confirm whether the hotel provides a direct pedestrian route, parking and transportation.

Meadowood / South Reno

A practical alternative for drivers and visitors wanting shopping or dining options near the southern Virginia Street corridor.

Downtown Reno

Offers a broader selection of entertainment and accommodations, but involves a separate ride or RTC journey to the convention center.

Airport area

Useful for short business trips and early flights. Check hotel shuttle coverage: an airport shuttle does not necessarily serve the convention center.

Before booking accommodation

  • Compare total nightly cost including taxes, parking and resort fees where applicable.
  • Check the actual route to your event entrance rather than straight-line distance.
  • Ask whether an event room block is available.
  • For winter or late-season visits, review weather and road conditions.
  • If using public transit, verify the last bus after evening activities.

Your Event-Day Checklist

  • Event confirmation: Event name, date and opening time saved.
  • Correct space: Exhibit hall, ballroom or numbered meeting room identified.
  • Admission: Ticket, QR code, badge or registration instructions ready.
  • Parking: Assigned gate and lot checked; digital payment ready.
  • Bag: Checked against the specific event’s policy.
  • Directions: Correct entrance and return transportation planned.
  • Accessibility: Assistance or equipment arranged in advance where needed.
  • Extra time: Arrival buffer for parking, security and badge collection.
