Rate source: Colorado Convention Center official parking page. Prices are published amounts reviewed October 2026. Confirm any new operator notice or changed terms before paying.

Money-saving consideration: If your event ends within eight hours, the onsite $13 bracket may cost less than many hotel garages. Don’t assume a nearby hotel is cheaper because it is only one block away.

Which Parking Garage Should You Choose?

The best parking spot depends on whether you value direct building access, a lower price, advance reservation or overnight convenience.

1. Colorado Convention Center Garage

Best for: Attendees who want onsite covered parking and a straightforward route into the convention complex.

Price: $13–$26 published time brackets.

Entry: Speer Boulevard / Champa Street.

Trade-off: Capacity is reduced; no re-entry privilege.

2. Denver Performing Arts Complex Garage

Best for: Visitors attending nearby performing arts events or willing to walk from an alternative covered garage.

Location: Near 13th Street, southwest of the convention center.

Trade-off: Separate operator and current pricing; do not rely on older published rate sheets.

3. Hyatt Regency Denver Garage

Best for: Hyatt hotel guests or visitors prioritizing a garage near the 15th Street side.

Self-parking entrance: Welton Street between 14th and 15th Streets.

Reference: A January 2025 hotel rate sheet listed $55 for stays over five hours or overnight. Verify today’s rate.

Clearance: 6 feet 10 inches in that hotel document.

See our Hyatt and convention center parking comparison for hotel-specific advice.

4. Nearby Private Lots and Garages

Best for: Drivers who want to compare prebooked prices or find overflow parking.

Options in the immediate downtown area include:

  • 1150 Welton Street lot
  • 1320 Glenarm Place lot
  • 1400 Welton Street garage
  • 1401 Welton Street garage
  • Denver Pavilions garage options

Check the exact address, reservation terms and total price for your event time.

How much should you budget? SpotHero’s currently displayed area averages are approximately $12–$20 for commuter parking, $5–$25 for some weekend/event reservations and $16–$30 for overnight listings. These are broad marketplace figures, not guaranteed quotes for a specific garage.

Colorado Convention Center Parking Map & Entrances

Main convention center address: 700 14th Street, Denver, CO 80202.

The official garage driveway is reached from Speer Boulevard and Champa Street. Entering the venue’s general street address into navigation may lead you toward the public entrance rather than the correct garage approach.

Approaching from northbound Speer Boulevard

  1. Continue northbound on Speer Boulevard.
  2. Pass Stout Street.
  3. Look for the dedicated right-turn lane before Champa Street.
  4. Follow the Downtown Denver Parking signage into the convention center garage.

Approaching from westbound Champa Street

  1. Travel westbound on Champa toward Speer Boulevard.
  2. Before Speer, prepare to turn left into the garage entry approach.
  3. Yield to vehicles merging from Speer Boulevard.
  4. Follow garage entry and level signs to an available non-reserved stall.

For street-level navigation, use the official venue’s garage approach instructions. Follow temporary traffic-control signs over ordinary navigation directions whenever construction changes the roadway.

How to Park and Pay: Step-by-Step

The garage uses automated payment. You do not need cash, but you do need your stall number and a supported payment method.

1
Enter through the garage driveway.

Use the Speer Boulevard or Champa Street approach and follow parking signage.

2
Choose a non-reserved parking stall.

Check clearance, permit restrictions and accessible-space signs before parking.

3
Record your stall number.

Take a photo of the numbered space or note it on your phone.

4
Find an automated pay station.

Stations are available on the garage levels. Follow the screen prompts to enter your stall information and parking duration.

5
Complete payment.

Use a credit card at the station, or follow the venue’s posted text/QR payment instructions. Cash is not accepted at the pay stations.

6
Save the confirmation.

Check that the purchased parking duration covers your event, food breaks and walking time.

7
Leave the garage before your paid period expires.

If you exit and return, you must purchase parking again.

Before leaving your vehicle: Save the garage level, elevator location, stall number and payment confirmation. This makes finding the car much easier after a large evening event.

Drivers of tall vans, pickup trucks with roof cargo, vehicles with bicycle racks or long-wheelbase vehicles should check total dimensions before reaching the entrance. An 8-foot-2-inch height allowance does not override the 19-foot length limit.

Accessible Parking, Passenger Drop-Off and EV Charging

ADA Parking

Designated accessible stalls are available across all three garage levels. A valid state-issued placard or license plate is required. Spaces are first-come, first-served, and ordinary parking payment applies.

Passenger Drop-Off

The convention center identifies a drop-off location off Stout Street near Speer Boulevard. This may reduce walking compared with parking and traveling through the complex.

EV Charging

The venue lists one EV charger on P1, approximately halfway down the level on the right near the sign. Charging availability, payment and compatibility are not guaranteed.

Mobility planning: The garage can be a substantial walk from some event spaces and ballrooms. For Bellco Theatre, the venue identifies south-end elevators as a useful access route. Confirm the appropriate event entrance and current drop-off access because roadworks may change the normal approach.

For event-specific accessibility needs, consult the convention center’s official arrival and transportation guidance or call its main office at 303-228-8000.

2026 Downtown Construction: What Drivers Need to Know

Two separate projects may affect arrival planning in late 2026.

Stout Street Closure

Denver announced a temporary closure of Stout Street between Speer Boulevard and 14th Street for exterior fire-suppression work, beginning September 1, 2026 and expected through mid-March 2027.

City guidance identifies alternative approaches using West Colfax/Welton/15th/Stout and Lawrence/14th/Stout. These are area routes, not a replacement for the garage’s official Speer/Champa driveway instructions.

RTD Rail Reconstruction

Since June 7, 2026, RTD has suspended D, H and L rail lines as part of the downtown rail project, with impacts expected into the first quarter of 2027.

Riders should not assume their former convention-center light rail stop or route is operating normally. RTD has adjusted service using C and T lines and bus connections.

If you are coming from outside Denver, allow extra time for traffic, downtown one-way streets and unexpected garage queues. Events with thousands of attendees can create congestion even when a navigation app shows a short final driving distance.

Where to Park for Different Types of Visits

Conference or Trade Show

For a typical 6–8-hour visit, start with the official $13 garage bracket. If you expect long registration lines or dinner afterward, budget for the next time bracket instead.

Bellco Theatre Concert

Check the show entrance and performance time. Arrive early, especially when another convention is operating. The south-side garage elevators may help with theatre access.

Hotel Stay

If you need overnight parking, luggage access or frequent re-entry, compare your hotel’s parking rules with the convention garage before deciding.

Visitors staying nearby can review our Homewood Suites Denver Downtown parking and walking guide.

Multi-Day Event

Compare repeated daily payments, operator-defined overnight parking and the $190 monthly permit. A multi-day conference does not automatically make a 30-day permit the best choice.

Also compare hotel valet and event garage options in our Embassy Suites Denver Downtown visitor and parking guide.

Can You Find Free or Cheap Parking Nearby?

The official convention center garage does not provide free parking. Some street spaces elsewhere in downtown Denver may have different regulations, but finding an available, legal and useful street space during an event should not be assumed.

Before using street parking

  • Read the actual meter and posted restrictions for the block.
  • Check time limits, payment hours, loading zones and street-cleaning rules.
  • Do not assume evenings, Sundays or holidays are free without verifying signs.
  • Consider the walk, event end time and personal comfort returning to the car.
  • Allow for possible changes to downtown streets during construction.

For low-cost reservations, compare the 1150 Welton Street lot, Glenarm Place locations and Denver Pavilions garages against the onsite rate for your exact arrival and departure time.

Practical decision: A discounted parking space several blocks away can be worthwhile if you are comfortable walking. For an attendee with limited mobility, a closer drop-off followed by parking elsewhere may be more useful than simply selecting the cheapest lot.

Public Transportation Instead of Parking

Travelers staying near downtown Denver may not need a rental car. Parking costs and roadwork make transit worth considering.

From Denver International Airport

  1. Follow airport signs to the RTD A Line rail station.
  2. Travel to Denver Union Station.
  3. Check the current downtown bus or rail connection using RTD’s journey planner.
  4. Continue toward the Colorado Convention Center at 700 14th Street.
  5. Check the event’s assigned entrance before making the final walk.

Because downtown rail reconstruction affects normal service, verify current routes rather than relying on an older map showing the former Theatre District–Convention Center service pattern.
