  2. Find the official event listing. Open the Indiana Convention Center event calendar.
  3. Check the organizer. Follow the authorized event website for admission requirements.
  4. Review admission type. Determine whether you need a purchased ticket, badge, invitation or advance registration.
  5. Save your assigned room or hall. Your registration location may be different from your main session location.
  6. Complete your registration. Use the event organizer’s official booking process and retain the QR code or confirmation email.

Ticket office detail: The Convention Center has ticket-office locations near Halls A, E and J. They operate when an event requires ticket-office services; there is no universal daily public ticket-office schedule. For ticketing questions, the venue lists (317) 262-3389.

Indiana Convention Center Parking: Garages, Rates & Arrival

How to Choose the Right Parking Option

Parking optionBest useWhat to verify
Convention-area garages Meetings and exhibitions Walking distance, operating hours, event pricing and clearance height
Lucas Oil Stadium-area parking Stadium events and southern convention access Availability during football games and major joint events
Other downtown garages Comparing price and walking distance Actual pedestrian route and reservation conditions
Accessible spaces Visitors with eligible parking permits Marked spaces, van clearance, garage accessibility and route to the venue
Specialty or long-term parking Exhibitors and unusual parking needs Advance arrangements with Denison or the event organizer

Parking in Four Practical Steps

  1. Locate your event hall. Choose a parking location near the assigned entrance rather than simply the venue’s general map pin.
  2. Compare the actual total cost. Event rates, online reservation charges and duration rules can differ.
  3. Check the garage’s access route. Downtown construction can change how you reach the entrance even if the garage remains open.
  4. Save your parking confirmation. Retain the exact garage address, entry instructions and payment receipt.

Official parking resources: Convention Center parking information and Denison Parking.

2026 downtown construction: Road and pedestrian changes around Capitol Avenue, Illinois Street and Georgia Street have affected approaches to the convention district. Some older notices on venue pages describe already-expired closure periods. Use current navigation and posted street signs rather than assuming an old detour remains in effect.

Entrances, Drop-Off, Ticket Offices & Security

The Indiana Convention Center occupies a large downtown campus. Your best entrance depends on whether you are arriving as a visitor, exhibitor, accessible-transport passenger or someone connecting from a hotel.

General Visitor Arrival

Use 100 S Capitol Avenue as your primary destination reference, then follow your organizer’s specific entrance and registration signs.

Accessible Drop-Off

Visit Indy identifies the Maryland Street canopy on the north side of the Convention Center for passenger drop-off and pickup.

Ticket Collection

Ticket offices near Halls A, E and J may operate on event days. Badge pickup may use other locations specified by the organizer.

Exhibitor Loading

Freight and move-in access follow organizer and dock assignments. Do not bring large exhibitor shipments through public attendee entrances.

What Are the Bag Rules?

There is no single bag restriction that should be assumed for every Indiana Convention Center exhibition or conference. Event organizers can implement their own screening, prohibited-item and bag requirements.

Do not automatically apply Lucas Oil Stadium’s professional football clear-bag policy to a Convention Center trade show. Always check the specific event’s official instructions.

Before You Enter

  • Have your ticket or registration QR code ready.
  • Bring photo identification if required by the event.
  • Confirm permitted bag dimensions and prohibited items.
  • Check whether re-entry is permitted.
  • Know your hall, ballroom or meeting-room number.
  • Allow additional time for security screening during large events.

Which Map Do You Need?

Map typeUse it for
Downtown street map Driving, rideshare, surrounding hotels and parking garages
Level One plan Exhibit halls, lower-level corridors and public facilities
Level Two plan Meeting rooms, ballrooms and upper-floor circulation
Hotel/skywalk map Covered pedestrian connections and indoor navigation
Organizer’s event map Booth numbers, badge collection, session assignments and temporary exhibits

The official Facility Guide and Brochures page provides detailed venue documents, including floor-plan and capacity resources. The official maps and floor-plan collection also lists downtown, parking and Level One/Two resources.

Finding Your Hall Without Getting Lost

  1. Read your registration email for the exact hall or meeting-room number.
  2. Identify whether the destination is on Level One or Level Two.
  3. Enter through the event’s recommended access point.
  4. Follow the corridor and room signs rather than relying only on a street map.
  5. Allow extra indoor walking time if your event spans multiple halls or connects to Lucas Oil Stadium.

Our South Capitol Avenue Convention Center guide provides additional details about the building address, skywalk access and event arrival.

Hotels Near Indiana Convention Center & Skywalk Connections

Downtown Indianapolis has a major network of enclosed skywalks connecting the Convention Center to hotels and other downtown buildings. This can reduce outdoor walking during cold, rainy or very hot weather.

HotelWhy visitors compare itCheck before booking
JW Marriott Indianapolis Large convention-oriented property in the connected hotel network Event rate, room price, parking and indoor route
Indianapolis Marriott Downtown Downtown convention accommodation Current skywalk connection and cancellation policy
Hyatt Regency Indianapolis Central business-district location with convention access Actual walkway route and operating hours
The Westin Indianapolis Convenient location beside the convention district Parking fees and event-date room pricing
Other downtown properties Potential price savings or preferred hotel brands Street-level distance and whether any skywalk is currently open

Do not confuse skywalk-connected with walkable. A hotel may be only a few blocks away but have no direct indoor route. Construction and redevelopment can also change previously available connections.

Signia by Hilton Expansion

A new Signia by Hilton Indianapolis hotel and Convention Center expansion have been under construction as part of a major downtown project. The planned addition includes approximately 143,500 square feet of meeting space and an 800-plus-room hotel.

The venue announced hotel reservations for stays beginning February 2027. Travelers should not assume this new property is available for an October 2026 convention without confirming actual opening and reservation dates.

How to Choose a Good Convention Hotel

  • Check the conference organizer’s official hotel block first.
  • Compare total nightly costs, including taxes and parking.
  • Verify whether your hotel connects through a functioning skywalk.
  • Check breakfast timing if your convention sessions begin early.
  • Confirm room cancellation policies and accessible accommodation needs.

Getting Here From Indianapolis Airport & Around Downtown

Indianapolis International Airport (IND)

The airport is west of the downtown convention district. The venue promotes a roughly 15-minute vehicle trip in favorable conditions; congestion, roadwork and weather can increase travel time.

Airport Rideshare or Taxi

Use the designated airport pickup location and enter the Convention Center’s complete address. If your event uses an unusual entrance, clarify the precise drop-off point with your driver.

Public Transportation

IndyGo provides public bus transportation in Indianapolis. Check current routes and frequency for airport or downtown connections rather than assuming a direct service at your travel time.

Walking From Downtown Hotels

Downtown Indianapolis is walkable, with many restaurants and attractions near the venue. Check street construction, crosswalks and available skywalk paths.

Nearby Landmarks

Your Event-Day Checklist

Before Leaving Home

  • Confirm the event date and opening time.
  • Save your ticket, QR code or registration confirmation.
  • Check your assigned hall, booth or meeting-room number.
  • Read the event-specific bag and security policy.
  • Choose your parking garage or hotel route.
  • Check the current downtown construction conditions.
  • Arrange mobility or hearing support if needed.
  • Bring suitable footwear for a large convention building.

Best arrival strategy: For a large convention, plan for time spent parking, walking, security screening and badge collection. The time printed as the session start may not be the same as the registration-opening time.
