A whole-building “max capacity” is a poor planning answer because LACC capacities vary by hall and room setup. The most useful current official number for the search query is the largest published individual-hall theater setup: 22,870 in South Hall. West Hall lists 15,000 theater seats.

Los Angeles Convention Center bag policy: venue rules vs event rules
The current general LACC visitor and conduct pages do not publish one universal bag-size dimension for every event. This matters because search results often surface a clear-bag rule from a specific show and make it look venue-wide. For example, an NBA event can impose its own 12″×6″×12″ clear-bag rule while explicitly saying that the event policy may differ from standard venue guidance.

Refine floor plans and vendors

The Event Expenses Checklist says final event specifications, timelines and production schedules should be submitted no later than 30 days before move-in. The Event Manager then prepares the estimate roughly 2–3 weeks out when final specs are available.

Event expenses are due in advance before move-in via credit card, wire transfer or company check.

Venue expenses that can appear beyond room rent

Are all Los Angeles Convention Center events open to the public?
No. The official visitor FAQ says not all events are open to the public. The LACC calendar labels many public events, while conferences and private programs may require membership, registration or a credential.
Can I bring food or a water bottle into the Los Angeles Convention Center?
Outside food and beverage are generally not permitted. The current visitor FAQ allows a personal water bottle or personal beverage, but bulk beverages, cases of water and coolers with food are not treated as the same exception.
Is the Los Angeles Convention Center accessible?
Yes. LACC states that it is ADA compliant and lists designated parking, accessible doors, elevators to all facility areas, ADA restrooms and drinking fountains, accessible signage and a wheelchair lift in the foyer.
Who owns and manages the Los Angeles Convention Center?
The City of Los Angeles owns the Los Angeles Convention Center. The City Tourism Department currently says Legends Global manages day-to-day convention-center operations.
What security staffing does a large event need at LACC?
The official security PDF requires event-security staffing for exhibit-hall events or events expecting at least 1,000 attendees per day. Events expecting 5,000 or more per day require LAPD officers during open event hours, with final staffing subject to LACC requirements.
Is the Los Angeles Convention Center being expanded?
Yes. LACC says the venue remains operational during construction. The expansion FAQ describes 193,000 square feet of added exhibit space, 38,000 square feet of added breakout/meeting space and a future 98,000-square-foot multi-purpose space, with most construction targeted for Spring 2028, an Olympic/Paralympic pause, and full completion in Spring 2029.
