Plan the Pennsylvania Convention Center by Event, Entrance & Route
Most visitors searching for the Philadelphia Convention Center mean the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 1101 Arch Street in Center City. The building covers several blocks, so the mailing address is only your starting point: your event, hall and organizer instructions should decide the entrance, parking garage and walking route.
This guide also resolves two common search traps: the 2026 MLB All-Star Village at PCC has concluded, and the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center in Oaks is a separate suburban venue. It also converts current venue PDFs and exhibitor rules into practical attendee and exhibitor decisions.
Quick Answers Before You Travel
The useful plan is correct venue → current event → exact entrance → parking/transit → organizer rules. Do not start with a random garage or an old event listing.
Center City Philadelphia; commonly searched as Philadelphia Convention Center.
The event entrance can be somewhere else on the multi-block building.
Directions/event line: 215-418-4989.
Official public calendar shows the next listed event Aug. 25–27.
Recheck the live calendar before making a dedicated trip.
Venue calendar shows a 6 AM event-start field; public doors may differ.
The convention center is located above the station.
Current Center City Airport Line fare; check SEPTA on travel day.
No single permanent venue parking rate; prices vary.
Seven exhibit halls total 679,000 sq ft.
Plus Grand Hall, Broad Street Atrium and extensive exhibit space.
Sensory room debuted in 2026; access/location is event-dependent.
What Are You Trying to Do?
Check a show today or this weekend
Start with the live PCC calendar, then use the organizer for public doors, tickets, badge pickup, security and the exact entrance.
You are looking for MLB All-Star Week
All-Star Village at PCC ended July 14. The actual All-Star Game was at Citizens Bank Park, not the Convention Center.
Your event says Oaks, PA
You need Greater Philadelphia Expo Center at 100 Station Avenue, not the Pennsylvania Convention Center downtown.
You have freight or room setup
Use the organizer kit and PCC planner resources. Service doors, labor rules and loading access are not public attendee directions.
Start With the Organizer, Not a Generic Venue Rule
The Pennsylvania Convention Center hosts hundreds of very different events. A bag size, ticket app, age rule, security screen or re-entry rule published for one show should not be treated as a permanent PCC-wide policy.
Ticket source
Start from the official PCC event listing, then follow the organizer’s official purchase or registration link. Avoid assuming a search-ad or resale listing is the primary seller.
Bag policy
Check the individual event. Past PCC events have published very different bag and prohibited-item rules, which proves the rule can be organizer-specific.
Badge pickup
Conference registration can open at a different time and entrance from the venue calendar’s generic “event starts” field. Save the organizer’s registration desk location.
Re-entry
Confirm re-entry before leaving for Reading Terminal Market, your hotel or a car. A badge alone does not guarantee every show permits re-entry.
Best sequence: PCC calendar → official organizer → public door time → entrance/hall → ticket or badge → bag/security rule → parking or SEPTA.
Philadelphia Convention Center Event Today & This Weekend
Today: the official public PCC calendar has no event listed for August 17, 2026. The previous listed event, RE+ Events Solar Power Mid Atlantic, ended August 13. The next listed event is ATI Advanced Technology International – DIBC Annual Collaboration Event on August 25–27.
Today • Aug 17
No public event is shown on the venue calendar. That does not rule out setup, private or credentialed activity.
This weekend • Aug 22–23
No public event is currently listed. Recheck the official calendar because venue schedules can change.
Next listed • Aug 25–27
ATI Advanced Technology International – DIBC Annual Collaboration Event. Organizer credentials and daily access should be checked separately.
Do not treat “6 AM” as public doors
Many venue-calendar entries show an event-start field of 6 AM. Use the event organizer for actual attendee registration and show-floor hours.
Useful rule: a venue calendar confirms that an event is scheduled at PCC; the organizer usually controls public admission, badge pickup, session timing, bag policy, re-entry and refund terms.
Philadelphia Convention Center Events 2026: Verified Upcoming Dates
This is a compact decision table, not a copied calendar. It highlights the next verified listings and tells you what still needs organizer confirmation.
| Event | Date | Venue-calendar start field | What to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| ATI Advanced Technology International – DIBC Annual Collaboration Event | Aug 25–27 | 6:00 AM | Registration, credentials, exact hall and daily attendee schedule. |
| ACI-NA Annual Convention | Sep 14–17 | 6:00 AM | Conference registration and official housing/agenda. |
| Fierce Pharma Week 2026 | Sep 15–17 | 6:00 AM | Organizer entrance, badge collection and sessions. |
| GreenTech North America | Sep 23–24 | 10:00 AM | Public/trade access and hall location. |
| 3DPrintopia | Sep 26–27 | 6:00 AM | Published show hours, tickets and entrance. |
| Mass Timber+ | Oct 6–8 | 6:00 AM | Conference registration, rooms and program. |
Use the venue calendar to verify the date and venue.
Get the actual admission hours, badge instructions, tickets and agenda.
PCC spans several blocks, so 1101 Arch may not be your most practical door.
This prevents a long cross-building walk.
Look for organizer notices, road closures, SEPTA alerts and late entrance changes.
Philadelphia Convention Center All-Star Game Search: What Was Actually Here?
The 2026 MLB All-Star Game itself was not played at the Pennsylvania Convention Center. It took place at Citizens Bank Park on July 14. What PCC hosted was the four-day Capital One All-Star Village from July 11–14, plus the opening rounds of the MLB Draft in Grand Hall during All-Star Week.
| Activity | Location | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Capital One All-Star Village | Pennsylvania Convention Center | Concluded July 14, 2026 |
| Opening rounds of MLB Draft | PCC Grand Hall | Concluded |
| 2026 MLB All-Star Game | Citizens Bank Park | Played July 14, 2026 |
| Home Run Derby | Citizens Bank Park | Concluded July 13, 2026 |
Why this matters now: old ticket pages and search snippets can still surface. Do not travel to PCC expecting an active All-Star Village in August—the convention-center portion of All-Star Week is over.
Philadelphia Convention Center Oaks: A Different Venue
If your event says Oaks, Pennsylvania, you are almost certainly looking for the Greater Philadelphia Expo Center, not the Center City Pennsylvania Convention Center.
| Detail | Pennsylvania Convention Center | Greater Philadelphia Expo Center |
|---|---|---|
| Address | 1101 Arch St, Philadelphia, PA 19107 | 100 Station Ave, Oaks, PA 19456 |
| Setting | Center City / downtown | Suburban Oaks / Route 422 |
| Parking | Independent nearby garages/lots; variable paid rates | 5,000+ free onsite spaces |
| Transit logic | Above SEPTA Jefferson Station | Driving-first; Expo also references SEPTA Route 99 |
| Facility format | Multi-level 2M+ sq ft building with 1M+ sellable event space | 240,000 sq ft on a single floor, 5 flexible halls |
Before buying parking or a hotel: match the street address on your ticket. A generic search for “Philadelphia convention center” can send Oaks attendees to the wrong county.
Pennsylvania Convention Center Address, Entrances & Arrival Logic
The official venue address is 1101 Arch Street, but the building spans more than six city blocks. Large events can publish entrances closer to their assigned halls. For example, event organizers have used Broad Street and 13th & Arch entrances for specific hall layouts.
Philadelphia Convention Center Map
Best map workflow: search the venue → confirm your event → note the hall/room → open the organizer entrance map → only then choose parking or rideshare.
Philadelphia Convention Center Parking: Do Not Trust One Fixed Rate
PCC’s current parking page points visitors to multiple independent garages and surface lots within a few blocks. Those businesses are not the Convention Center, so the safest article cannot promise one permanent “official” parking price.
Pick by entrance
The cheapest garage is not useful if it puts you several blocks from your event door. Start with the organizer entrance.
Check event-day pricing
Rates can vary with duration, day and event demand. Use the garage operator or Philadelphia Parking Authority for the current amount.
Check closing time
Especially for evening conventions, receptions or move-out. A low rate is useless if the garage closes early.
Save the garage
Photograph the garage name, level and pedestrian entrance before walking into PCC.
No ParkingFacility schema is added here. The nearby garages are third-party facilities, and this page is not claiming one of them as an official PCC-owned visitor garage.
Jefferson Station, SEPTA & PHL Airport
The Convention Center is located above Jefferson Station, making Regional Rail especially useful for many attendees. From Philadelphia International Airport, the Airport Line provides a direct Center City rail option.
| Trip | Current useful detail | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Regional Rail | Jefferson Station is directly beneath/at the convention-center district | Match station exit and walking direction to your event entrance. |
| PHL Airport → Center City | $8.75 | Current Airport Line Center City fare with SEPTA Key, contactless or Quick Trip. |
| PHL Airport onboard payment | $11 | Current onboard Center City Airport Line fare. |
| Airport frequency | About every 30 minutes | Official airport guidance says service runs roughly 5 AM–midnight daily; verify day-of schedule. |
| Bus / Metro | Multiple Center City services | Use SEPTA trip planning based on where you are starting and your event entrance. |
Airport arrival tip: do not assume the train station exit is your event entrance. The venue is large; save the organizer’s hall and entry instructions before boarding.
Hotels Near the Philadelphia Convention Center
Visit Philadelphia identifies 16 hotels within about a five-minute walk, while PCC’s facility material says more than 14,000 hotel rooms are within walking distance. The useful question is not simply “closest”—it is closest to my entrance, with the right event block and cancellation rules.
| Hotel | Useful relationship | What to check before booking |
|---|---|---|
| Aloft Philadelphia Downtown | Attached to the convention-center west side; PCC lists 179 rooms, Visit Philadelphia describes about 180. | Your hall/entrance, event block, luggage storage, cancellation. |
| Philadelphia Marriott Downtown | Connected to PCC; official venue floor-plan page lists 1,408 rooms. | Conference housing link, room-block deadline, parking. |
| Hilton Garden Inn Philadelphia Center City | 1100 Arch Street; very close and connected to Reading Terminal Market complex. | Room-block terms and your specific event entrance. |
| Home2 Suites by Hilton | 1200 Arch Street; close Center City option. | Breakfast hours, parking, cancellation and walk to assigned hall. |
| Hampton Inn / Four Points / other Center City hotels | Visit Philadelphia lists multiple one- to five-minute options. | Official housing block, late checkout and luggage storage. |
Conference housing protection: if your organizer has an official hotel block, start there. A company emailing that it has “special convention rooms” is not automatically authorized by the event or PCC.
Reading Terminal Market & Event-Day Food Planning
One of PCC’s biggest location advantages is its Center City setting. Reading Terminal Market sits immediately next to the convention district, and hundreds of restaurants are within walking distance. That does not mean every attendee can leave and re-enter freely.
Check re-entry first
Some events control re-entry, badge scans or security. Confirm before leaving for lunch.
Expect lunch spikes
Large conferences release thousands of people at once. Eat slightly early/late when your program allows.
Plan dietary needs
Use the event’s catering/food information and nearby restaurant menus rather than assuming every concession is open.
Meeting-heavy day
If sessions are back-to-back, identify a fast backup inside or immediately outside your assigned side of PCC.
Coffee, Gift Shop, Shipping & Lactation Suites
These small details can save a full-day attendee or exhibitor an unnecessary walk across Center City.
Passero’s
PCC’s current amenities page lists an Aramark-operated Passero’s coffee/snack stand. Availability can follow event operations, so do not rely on it as your only meal plan.
UnConventional Gift Shop
The second-level shop near 12th & Arch is described as open during exhibit hours and carries souvenirs plus convenience/exhibitor supplies.
UPS Store
PCC lists an in-building UPS Store resource. Exhibitors should still follow their show’s freight rules rather than shipping booth freight generically to the venue.
Four Mamava suites
Current amenities information lists four private lactation suites across Street Level/Broad Street Atrium and the 200/Exhibit Hall level.
Location matters: the venue is large. If you need a lactation suite, scooter rental, shipping help or a quick coffee between sessions, ask staff for the closest resource to your current hall instead of navigating back to the main address.
Floor Plans: What Attendees, Exhibitors & Planners Need to Know
Official PCC floor-plan material shows more than 1 million square feet of flexible/sellable event space, seven exhibit halls totaling 679,000 square feet, 528,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space, 82 meeting rooms and two ballrooms.
| Space | Published figure | User-help meaning |
|---|---|---|
| Exhibit halls | 7 halls / 679,000 sq ft total | Hall assignment can significantly change your entrance and walk. |
| Contiguous exhibit space | 528,000 sq ft | Very large shows can span an enormous continuous floor. |
| Meeting rooms | 82 | Save the room number and level before entering. |
| Grand Hall | About 34,000 sq ft; exhibit-hall page publishes 34,960 sq ft | Historic former Reading Railroad train shed used for registration, exhibits and receptions. |
| Broad Street Atrium | 23,400 sq ft | Major public-facing event/arrival space. |
| Terrace Ballroom | 55,408 sq ft on floor-plan page | Large ballroom on the 400 level. |
| Loading docks | 45 | Planner/exhibitor infrastructure, not attendee parking. |
What the Terrace Ballroom technical PDF adds
The current downloadable plan visually distinguishes ordinary “Entrance” doors from multiple “Service Entrance/Exit Only” doors. It also shows service-door dimensions, roll-up access and states that a 15-foot clearance must be maintained in any direction from emergency exit doorways.
Practical translation: a line or door on a technical PDF is not automatically a public attendee route. Service-only doors, roll-up access and emergency-exit clearance are operational space—not spare booth, décor, staging or queue space. Attendees should use the organizer’s public map; exhibitors and planners should use the technical plan with the venue/event team.
Capacity warning: do not estimate attendance capacity by dividing square footage by a generic formula. PCC notes that staging, production equipment, aisles, buffet lines and other room elements reduce standard capacities.
Accessibility, Lactation Suites, Scooter Rental & Sensory Room
PCC’s accessibility work is unusually well documented. The venue became the first convention center in the United States to earn Sage accessibility certification in 2025; the certification is published as valid for three years. PCC added a sensory room in January 2026, but its current accessibility page says access and location are event-dependent.
Four Mamava lactation suite locations
| Area | Published location |
|---|---|
| Street Level | 13th & Arch, near meeting room 109AB |
| Broad Street Atrium | Near the Arch & Broad corner area |
| 200 / Exhibit Hall Level | Registration Bridge-West |
| Hall E area | Hall E Concourse-South Corner |
New for 2026: sensory room — confirm it with your event
The sensory room debuted January 22, 2026 with soft lighting, comfortable seating, stress toys, a bubble tube and other sensory tools. PCC’s current accessibility page specifically warns that access to the sensory room is event-dependent, so confirm its availability and location with your show organizer before relying on it.
Before an accessibility-critical visit: tell the organizer what you need and ask for the most practical entrance, elevator route, seating/support contact and room location. Venue infrastructure and event-specific services are not the same thing.
Free Wi-Fi vs Event Internet & the 2026 Digital Wayfinding Upgrade
| Area / need | Official-source status | Best use |
|---|---|---|
| Public concourses | Complimentary Wi-Fi | Basic attendee connectivity. |
| Grand Hall | Complimentary Wi-Fi | Basic guest access. |
| Third-level Overlook Café | Complimentary Wi-Fi | Public guest connectivity. |
| Meeting rooms, exhibit halls, ballrooms | Wireless available for purchase / event arrangement | Event-specific attendee or production connectivity. |
| High-demand production | Up to 1 Gbps service available through PCC offerings | Planner/exhibitor networks, not a promise of free bandwidth. |
150+ digital screens for easier wayfinding
In 2026 PCC rolled out a major digital signage project with more than 150 screens. Official details include a 79-foot digital ribbon in the Broad Street Atrium, three 28-foot vertical screens, curved displays at key intersections and a Grand Hall hub with approximately 760 square feet of wall displays.
Use them as live wayfinding aids, not as a substitute for your ticket. Save the building level, hall and room before arrival, then use the digital network and staff signage to confirm the route onsite.
Security, Medical Help & Important Phone Numbers
| Need | Published contact / action | Practical note |
|---|---|---|
| General venue | 215-418-4700 / 1-800-428-9000 | Venue information and general inquiries. |
| Directions / Event line | 215-418-4989 | Useful for venue-event direction questions. |
| Security / Command Station | 215-418-4911 | PCC’s published venue safety contact; house phones use ext. 4911. |
| Event Services | 215-418-4850 | Planner/event coordination questions. |
| Event Technology | 215-418-4800 | Internet, telecom and event-technology questions. |
| Exhibitor utilities | 215-418-2190 | Electrical, plumbing and compressed-air service. |
Medical emergency inside PCC: the venue’s published emergency procedure directs guests/event teams to contact the Command Station/security so onsite personnel can coordinate fire/EMS response and guide responders through the large facility. Follow venue staff directions in an emergency.
Exhibitor Micro-Guide: What You Can Do Yourself & What Needs Show Labor
Current PCC web rules and downloadable PDFs contain details that ordinary visitor guides usually miss. Always let your event’s exhibitor manual control the move-in address, deadlines and contractor assignment.
Safety PDF: booth actions that are specifically restricted
| Task / item | Current downloadable safety guidance | What to do instead |
|---|---|---|
| Ladder / battery tools | Ladders up to 6 ft and battery-operated tools are permitted subject to safety guidance. | Use manufacturer guidance and required protective equipment. |
| Power-actuated tools | Prohibited | Use an approved alternative / show labor process. |
| Floor ports | Exhibitors may not access exhibit-hall floor ports. | Order utilities through PCC. |
| Gas equipment / generators | Gasoline-powered equipment and generators are prohibited. | Confirm approved electrical/service solution. |
| Open flame / lasers | Prohibited by the exhibitor safety PDF. | Discuss alternatives with event management before arrival. |
| Vehicle battery | Disconnect/reconnect is electrician work. | Schedule the required service. |
| Liquids | Do not fill/drain into restroom sinks, toilets or floor ports. | Order Water Fill & Drain service. |
Official-source conflict worth knowing: the downloadable Exhibitor FAQ PDF contains older wording saying that once a third-party vendor is involved, show labor performs all work. PCC’s current live exhibitor FAQ now says full-time exhibitor employees may still work in their booth under stated conditions. Because the sources conflict, use the current web page and confirm your exact setup with the show organizer/PCC rather than relying on an old PDF sentence.
Planner/exhibitor cost signal: current 2026–27 PCC labor rates
The current PCC labor-rate PDF is effective May 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027. These are labor billing rates, not a quote for your booth; minimum calls, overtime and event-specific requirements matter.
| Trade | Straight time | Overtime | Double time | Minimum noted |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Electrician | $146 | $219 | $292 | No minimum labor call |
| Plumber | $175 | $262 | $350 | 4 hours |
| Laborer — Journeyman | $80.75 | $105.75 | $131.75 | 4 hours |
| Stagehand — Journeyman | $99 | $148.50 | $198 | 4 hours |
| Rigger — Journeyman | $102.75 | $143.25 | $185.25 | 4 hours |
Budget implication: a short task can still trigger a four-hour minimum for several trades. Order services early and use the event/PCC quote rather than multiplying this table yourself.
Accessibility & Sustainability Certifications
Sage Certified
In April 2025 PCC became the first U.S. convention center to earn Sage certification, covering mobility, visual, hearing, cognitive and allergy-related accessibility standards; PCC says the certification is valid for three years.
EIC Gold • 2026
On July 16, 2026 PCC achieved its third consecutive Gold-level recertification under the Events Industry Council Sustainable Event Standards.
Legends Global
Current 2026 PCC accessibility materials identify Legends Global as the venue manager. Older PCC pages can still contain the prior ASM Global name, so this guide uses the newer current source.
PCCA
The Pennsylvania Convention Center Authority is the public authority associated with the Center. No owner relationship is asserted in custom schema without explicit ownership wording.
Common Philadelphia Convention Center Mistakes
| Problem | Why it happens | What to do now |
|---|---|---|
| You went to Oaks instead of Center City | Search results mixed two “Philadelphia” expo/convention venues. | Check street address: PCC 1101 Arch; Oaks Expo 100 Station Ave. |
| You arrived at 1101 Arch but registration is far away | The mailing address is not always the event entrance. | Open the organizer map and use the assigned hall/entrance. |
| Parking cost is higher than an old guide | Nearby garages are independent and rates vary. | Use current operator/PPA price, not an old fixed blog rate. |
| You expected an All-Star event | July All-Star pages still rank in search. | All-Star Village concluded July 14; check the current PCC calendar. |
| You expected free Wi-Fi in an exhibit hall | Complimentary access applies to specified public areas. | Check whether your event provides access or purchase the required service. |
| You brought freight to an attendee door | Public directions were used instead of the exhibitor kit. | Follow organizer/service route and move-in window. |
| A technical floor plan shows a door you cannot use | Some doors are service-only or emergency exits. | Use public organizer maps and staff wayfinding. |
