August 17, 2026: the official RCC calendar lists PAC World Americas Conference 2026 for Aug. 17–20. It also lists North Carolina Digital Government Summit on Aug. 19, COR Affordable Housing Summit on Aug. 22, and several events beginning Aug. 29. The organizer remains the final source for public access, registration, tickets and event-specific rules.
Atlantic Union Bank naming-rights status
Raleigh City Council voted 8–0 on June 16, 2026 to approve a sponsorship agreement to rename the venue Atlantic Union Bank Convention Center. However, as of this August 17 review, the venue’s own current website still brands and identifies the facility as Raleigh Convention Center. This guide therefore keeps the live official-site name rather than prematurely changing the article and schema entity.
Practical search tip: if future tickets, maps or signage begin using Atlantic Union Bank Convention Center, compare the address—500 S Salisbury St—to confirm you are looking at the same venue.
Directions to Raleigh Convention Center: account for the 2026 detour
For GPS, use 500 South Salisbury Street, Raleigh, NC 27601. The venue’s current directions page also warns about two changes that older route guides may miss.
Current road closure through Dec. 31, 2026: the exit ramp from westbound Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard to northbound McDowell Street is closed from April 15 through December 31. RCC recommends turning right at Wilmington Street, then left on South Street or Lenoir Street.
Separately, one block of South Street between McDowell and Dawson was permanently closed in April 2025 to support Red Hat Amphitheater relocation and the Convention Center expansion.

Parking: use the current five-deck list, not a copied flat rate
The RCC lists nearby public decks but explicitly says it does not control their rates or maintenance. The current page identifies The Car Park as the operator of the listed decks. Older cached RCC pages still name a different operator and include a South Street deck, which is one reason third-party parking summaries can go stale.

Accessibility: the RCC says designated accessible spaces are on the first level of all listed downtown parking decks. Choose the garage based on both the accessible walking route and your event entrance.
Why no fixed price here: SERP pages can quote a “Convention Center deck” rate, but current RCC guidance says it does not control surrounding garage rates. Use the price shown by the current operator on your event day.
R-LINE, GoTriangle Route 100, rideshare and RDU
R-LINE
Downtown Raleigh’s circulating R-LINE stops at the RCC main entrance on South Salisbury Street. The venue says the clockwise loop reaches stops about every 15 minutes.
RDU Airport
The current directions page calls RDU roughly an 18-minute drive; general information says about 20 minutes. Treat that as a normal-condition estimate, not a guarantee.
GoTriangle Route 100
RCC says Route 100 connects RDU with downtown GoRaleigh Station every 30 minutes through 6:30 PM, then hourly in the evening. GoRaleigh Station is about 3.5 blocks from RCC.
Yes—there is a direct train from Raleigh to Charlotte
Raleigh Union Station at 510 W Martin St has direct NC By Train service to Charlotte. The current Piedmont schedule provides four Raleigh departures daily, and the Carolinian adds another southbound Charlotte option.

Hotels near Raleigh Convention Center: connected beats merely close for some trips
The official Visit Raleigh downtown meeting district currently identifies a five-property convention campus: Raleigh Marriott City Center, Sheraton Raleigh Hotel, Homewood Suites by Hilton Raleigh Downtown, Tempo by Hilton Raleigh Downtown and Residence Inn Raleigh Downtown.

Hotel parking is not RCC parking. If a hotel publishes its own parking price, do not relabel that price as a Raleigh Convention Center garage rate.
Floor plans and capacities: what the official PDFs actually show
The existing Raleigh Convention Center is marketed as a 500,000-square-foot facility. Its main event inventory includes a 150,000-square-foot exhibit hall, a 32,617-square-foot ballroom, 20 meeting rooms totaling 32,600 square feet, an 11,200-square-foot mezzanine and a 2,665-square-foot registration area.

Meeting rooms: examples from the official capacity PDF
The Main Lobby + Meeting Space PDF shows why “20 meeting rooms” is not one capacity. For example, combined Room 306 ABC is listed at 5,538 sq ft / 629 theatre / 426 classroom, while Room 307 is only 701 sq ft / 60 theatre / 40 classroom. Combined Room 302 ABC is listed at 5,367 sq ft and 557 theatre.
Exhibit Hall: the official PDF and current web pages do not fully agree
The current Exhibit Hall capacity PDF lists Hall ABC at 146,843 sq ft, 8,980 banquet, 10,000 theatre/classroom and 773 10×10 booths, explicitly noting that capacities are based on maximum fire capacities. The general facility page likewise says up to 773 booths and 12 covered docks.
But the current Exhibitor Information page says up to 790 booths, 12,000 banquet, 15,000 theatre and 10 covered loading docks, and the dedicated Dock Access page also says 10 covered docks.
Planner rule: do not use 773 vs 790 booths—or 10 vs 12 docks—as a contractual planning promise from a blog. Treat the current approved event floor plan, capacity chart, Dock Master and Event Manager as the controlling sources for your configuration.

Complex Brew
The current attendee site promotes the in-house coffee shop as a convenient amenity. Opening hours may follow venue/event operations rather than standard café hours.
Ticket and event questions: RCC says it does not produce the events it hosts and cannot resolve event-specific ticket inquiries. Contact the organizer or ticket supplier for tickets, door time, bag rules, refunds and program changes.
Raleigh Convention Center fire: historical incident, not a current closure
A roof fire occurred on December 1, 2025. Official RCC and City updates say there were no events underway, only a small number of staff were present, no one was injured, and fire crews prevented the blaze from damaging the building interior. The venue reopened to events during the week of January 12, 2026.
Current status: the active August 2026 event calendar shows the Convention Center operating. Search results about the December fire should not be interpreted as a current shutdown notice.
North Carolina Home Show: the “Nov. 9” date is stale
For 2026, the North Carolina Home Show organizer and Visit Raleigh both list the Raleigh Convention Center event for October 17–18, 2026, not November 9.

Raleigh Convention Center jobs: use the City hiring system
The RCC is operated by the City of Raleigh, and the venue’s current careers page says all RCC/Complex hiring is handled through City of Raleigh Human Resources. It specifically tells applicants not to contact the venue about postings.

Sodexo Live
Food-and-beverage positions are hired separately through Sodexo Live. Do not assume City job postings cover catering roles.
Exhibitors: dock address, freight, shipping and utilities
The current Dock Access page gives the operational loading-dock address as 237 West Lenoir Street, Raleigh, NC 27601 and says the Dock Master oversees load-in/load-out. The event-planner handbook adds critical workflow rules.
Discuss and obtain approval at least 30 days before move-in. Exhibit-hall vehicle access also requires advance approval.
Vehicles/people needing loading-dock access must be provided at least 14 business days before move-in.
Pedestrian access on the Lenoir Street service road to the underground dock is prohibited.
Main-lobby move-in is hand-carried items only, requires event-manager approval, and third-party vendors cannot use that lane for move-in/out.
RCC may accept previously approved customer shipments, but it does not accept/store exhibitor freight; exhibitor freight goes through an external contractor/drayage company.

- Discuss shipping with the Event Manager at least 30 days before move-in.
- Approved customer packages may not arrive more than 48 hours before event move-in.

Planner cost surprises to ask about before signing off
The current handbook lists a $5,000/day City-observed-holiday surcharge, separate premium/holiday labor, and a $10,000/day operational surcharge for certain events using less than one-third of the building when they are the only event and do not use significant ancillary services. Confirm how your contract applies before budgeting.
Rate-sheet caution: equipment and service inventory is availability-based. Use the current RCC rate sheet/contract and confirm setup availability with your Event Manager rather than copying a price from an older article.
Expansion: what exists now vs what is future
Do not book the future building in your mind as if it already exists. The current venue remains the 500,000-square-foot facility described above. RCC’s expansion program adds 298,100 square feet, bringing the planned combined footprint to 798,100 square feet.

The City of Raleigh says it is proud to own and manage the Raleigh Convention Center as part of the Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Complex. A separate Raleigh Convention and Performing Arts Centers Authority oversees maintenance, operation and financing.
