Ticket and Registration Checklist

  • Is the event open to the public?
  • Is advance registration mandatory?
  • Is a QR ticket, badge or photo ID needed?
  • Which entrance opens for attendees?
  • Are bags, photography or re-entry restricted?
  • Are parking or hotel packages included?
No universal KICC admission fee: KICC is a facility, not one ticketed attraction. A public consumer show and a private professional conference can have completely different entry requirements.

Commonwealth Garage address caution: Official materials sometimes describe the garage using its Fourth Street reference address and sometimes its Jefferson Street approach. Use the current venue parking directions and actual garage entrance when navigating—not only an address from an older PDF.

Five Steps to Park Correctly

Read the event’s entrance information.

Know your assigned hall, ballroom, meeting room and registration point.

Choose the garage before starting navigation.

Set Cowger or Commonwealth as the destination instead of using the generic KICC address.

Follow downtown one-way roads.

Market Street and Jefferson Street have different traffic directions. Use live navigation for the final approach.

Check parking conditions.

Read the entrance sign and keep a payment method ready. The planning guide describes first-come, first-served parking without in-and-out privileges.

Save your parking location.

Record the garage name, level and nearest pedestrian connection before entering the venue.

Hotel Pedway Access

Louisville Marriott Downtown and Hyatt Regency Louisville are connected to KICC through indoor pedestrian connections.

However: The KICC official parking/directions page states that Marriott and Hyatt pedways open at the discretion of the event. A connected hotel does not guarantee 24-hour access through the convention building.

Getting the Correct Floor Plan

Identify the event area.

Read the hall letter or complete meeting-room code in your registration details.

Identify the concourse.

Use the Upper, Main and Lower Concourse maps to locate your assigned area.

Look for the closest event entrance.

Choose the door your event actually opens rather than relying on a general building map.

Allow time to move between floors.

The building has elevators and escalators, but large conferences can create queues during session changes.

Availability is limited and subject to actual garage capacity.

Accessible Entrances

Public perimeter access points include ADA doors. Accessible restrooms are provided throughout the facility.

Individual Accommodations

Wi-Fi, Food, Security & Visitor Facilities

Wi-Fi and Internet

KICC states that Wi-Fi is available, but prices vary by event. Do not assume free venue-wide internet access.

For exhibitors using payment systems, cloud demonstrations or livestreaming, confirm whether dedicated internet service must be ordered.

Catering and Food

Levy Restaurants provides the convention center’s catering operation. Event-specific concessions may also be arranged.

The planning guide generally requires prior written approval for outside food and beverages.

Cashless Purchases

KICC’s visitor information describes the facility as cashless. Carry a card or supported payment method instead of relying exclusively on cash.

Lost Items and Security

If an item goes missing, begin at event registration or contact KICC staff. Public safety and security services operate around the property.

General contact: (502) 595-4381.

Bag Rules and Event Security

Bag size restrictions, screening, camera policies, prohibited items and re-entry procedures can vary by event. KICC’s general venue guidance should be used alongside the specific organizer’s published rules.

Do not apply another venue’s bag policy: Rules used by KFC Yum! Center, Churchill Downs or Kentucky Exposition Center are not automatically KICC’s rules. Check the event you are attending.

  • Final layouts, rigging details and other production requirements have specific deadlines.
