Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland: Plan the Event, Parking & Entrance First
Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland is a downtown Cleveland convention campus with more than 520,000 square feet of meeting and event space. The official main/mailing address is 1 St. Clair Ave NE, Cleveland, OH 44114; for driving, the venue tells visitors to use 300 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114.
The most useful visit plan is to confirm your event and room, check the organizer’s ticket and bag rules, then choose the connected garage, hotel or transit route. “Connected parking” does not mean the Convention Center itself owns onsite parking.
The Main Answers Before You Scroll
These quick facts use current official venue, County, transit and PDF sources. Your event organizer can still override general venue guidance for tickets, security, bags, check-in, cameras, props and re-entry.

What Is Happening at Huntington Convention Center Today?
That is not the same as saying the building is empty. Convention centers host private meetings, move-ins, association sessions and events that may not be publicly indexed. If you have an organizer email, badge confirmation or private schedule, use that information first.
What about this weekend?
For August 22–23, 2026, no public event surfaced in the current official venue search we reviewed. Recheck the official calendar close to departure because listings can be added, changed or linked through an organizer page.

Upcoming Cleveland Convention Center Dates We Could Verify
This table favors official venue, County or organizer sources over scraped event directories. It is a planning snapshot, not a promise that these are the only events in the building.
| Event / use | Date | Current verified detail | Use before travel |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cuyahoga County Forfeited Lands Sale | Sep 1–3, 2026 | Atrium Ballroom; check-in 8:00 a.m., sale 9:30 a.m. on County page. | County instructions, property-sale rules and arrival time. |
| Cleveland Gaming Classic | Sep 11–13, 2026 | Organizer currently sells weekend, Friday preview, Saturday, Sunday and VIP admission. | Organizer ticket type, hours and entry rules. |
| Intersection 2026 | Sep 17–18, 2026 | Official venue event page lists Huntington Convention Center at 1 St. Clair Ave NE. | Conference registration and attendee program. |
| Ohio Bridal & Wedding Expo | Sep 20, 2026 | Official venue page lists 1–5 p.m. and free passes or $10 at the door. | Organizer pass and show-entry details. |
| International Transplant Nurses Society Symposium | Sep 25–27, 2026 | Official venue listing confirms the 34th Annual ITNS Symposium. | Symposium registration and professional-access details. |
Huntington Convention Center Tickets: The Venue Does Not Run One Universal Ticket System
The venue’s current FAQ recommends buying tickets online before arriving because ticketing options vary widely between events. That means a convention, fan show, professional conference and County sale can all use completely different admission systems.
Huntington Convention Center Bag Policy: Inspection Is General, Size Rules Are Event-Specific
The current general venue FAQ says all bags are subject to inspection upon entry. It does not publish a universal 12×6×12 clear-bag requirement or one standard purse/backpack size for every convention.
General venue rule
Bags can be inspected. Weapons, laser pointers, personal outside food/beverage, drones, fireworks, tobacco/vaping and several wheeled recreational devices are listed as prohibited.
Event organizer can add rules
Your convention may set clear-bag, backpack, luggage, camera, cosplay, prop, stroller, child-admission or re-entry requirements.
Do not confuse Toledo
The Huntington Center arena in Toledo has a different published clear-bag policy. That rule is not evidence of a Cleveland Convention Center-wide bag size.
60-second entry check
- Search the exact event name plus “bag policy” or “attendee policies.”
- Check luggage/backpack rules if you are arriving from a hotel or airport.
- Fan/cosplay events: check props and costume accessories separately.
- Save a screenshot of the organizer policy before entering the building.
- If the organizer gives no extra rule, still expect bag inspection under the venue’s general FAQ.
General building rule: official venue FAQ.
Parking: Connected Garage, Nearby Backups and the Price Trap
The most convenient garage for many attendees is Huntington Park Garage. It has 1,200 spaces and a direct enclosed ground-floor connector marked for the Convention Center and Hilton. The venue is explicit, however, that it does not operate or own onsite parking.
| Facility | Official map address | Capacity | Official PDF rate range* | Best practical use |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Huntington Park Garage | 1141 W. 3rd Street | 1,200 | $10–$40 | Direct enclosed walkway to the Convention Center/Hilton connector. |
| Willard Park Garage | 601 Lakeside Avenue | 1,200 | $10–$25 | Large nearby alternative recommended by the venue. |
| AECOM Garage | 1301 E. 6th Street | 632 | $10–$20 | East-side backup near Westin/Public Auditorium side. |
| Cuyahoga County Parking Division | 400 W. Lakeside Ave. | 110 | $10–$40 | Smaller County-area option. |
| Memorial Plaza | 300 St. Clair Ave. | 200 | $8–$25 | St. Clair-side option near the convention district. |
*The official currently-linked parking PDF says rates and hours are subject to change based on events.
How to use Huntington Park Garage without wandering
Accessible parking
The venue recommends either accessible spaces in Huntington Park Garage with the connected tunnel or passenger drop-off at the Lakeside entrance. Accessible parking availability is still subject to garage capacity.
Official live guidance: Parking & Directions.
Which Address Should You Put in GPS?
The venue publishes two addresses for different tasks. Use them deliberately instead of treating one as a mistake.
1 St. Clair Ave NE, Cleveland, OH 44114
Use this as the venue’s primary official address and for general identity/contact purposes.
300 Lakeside Ave, Cleveland, OH 44114
The venue specifically publishes this address for driving. Individual event pages may display “300 Lakeside Ave E” and occasionally a 44113 ZIP because they reference a campus-side entrance.
Airport arrival
From Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, the RTA Red Line runs directly to downtown Tower City. RTA says the airport-to-downtown ride takes less than 30 minutes. From Tower City, finish the trip by walking, local bus or rideshare based on luggage, weather and mobility needs.
Map: Use a Precise Campus Landmark
Use Tower City as the Reliable Rail Anchor
W. 3rd/Stadium Station looks close on a map, but the service pattern changed immediately before this review. Effective August 16, 2026, GCRTA suspended regular scheduled Waterfront Line service; the line now operates for special events only. Do not build an ordinary convention-day trip around a Waterfront train unless RTA confirms service for your date.
| Trip | Current useful fact | Best planning move |
|---|---|---|
| CLE Airport → downtown | RTA Red Line connects Cleveland Hopkins International Airport directly with Tower City; Airport Station is inside the terminal complex. | Check the current Red Line schedule, ride to Tower City, then finish by walking, bus or rideshare based on weather, luggage and mobility. |
| Tower City | Downtown rail hub and a safer general transit anchor than assuming lakefront rail service. | Use it as the default rail endpoint for a normal convention visit. |
| W. 3rd / Stadium Station | Nearby Waterfront Line station, but regular scheduled Waterfront service is suspended. | Use it only when RTA explicitly announces special-event Waterfront service for your date. |
| Waterfront Line | Effective Aug. 16, 2026: regular scheduled service suspended; special events only. | Do not treat older route maps or event guides as proof that a train will run. |
Current operator check: RTA August 2026 service adjustments and RTA airport service.
How Big Is Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland?
The current venue homepage says the Center offers more than 520,000 square feet of meeting and event space. Older/secondary official copy still says “over 500,000,” so this guide uses the current homepage figure while keeping room-specific figures separate.
| Space | Official figure | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Total meeting/event space | Over 520,000 sq ft | Current homepage scale; do not compare this directly with exhibit-only figures. |
| Exhibit Hall space | 225,000 sq ft | Main trade-show/expo inventory; national brochure describes three exhibit halls. |
| Grand Ballroom | 32,000 sq ft | Large general-session/banquet venue with substantial pre-function area. |
| Atrium Ballroom | 20,000 sq ft | Newer renovated ballroom on Level 1. |
| Atrium Lobby | 8,200 sq ft | Registration, networking and pre-function use. |
| Rooftop Terrace | 11,200 sq ft | Outdoor event space unveiled in 2024. |
| Breakout rooms | 50+ | Current venue marketing reflects expanded room inventory. |
| Public Auditorium | 10,000-seat main auditorium | Connected campus venue for large sessions/performances; separate room/entry planning matters. |
Which Level or Space Might Your Event Use?
The current official photo/room-set page breaks the campus into multiple levels. Saving your room number before arrival is much more useful than only knowing “Huntington Convention Center.”
| Area | Examples / size | Visitor use |
|---|---|---|
| Level 1 Atrium | Atrium Lobby 8,200 sq ft; Atrium Ballroom 20,000 sq ft | Large newer event/registration area with natural-light Atrium context. |
| Level 2 | Rooms 201–207; Suite 201 is 2,670 sq ft | Breakouts and VIP/hospitality use. |
| Level 3 | Rooms 301–308; Suite 301 is 2,650 sq ft | Breakout and hospitality-suite programming. |
| Level 4 | The Loft, Loft Suite and conference rooms; Loft Suite 2,600 sq ft | Higher-level meetings/VIP functions. |
| Concourse | Rooms 1–8; Room 01 is 2,775 sq ft | Smaller meeting-room navigation. |
| Exhibit Hall level | Rooms 9–24 plus Halls A/B galleries on current page | Expo floor, sessions and long walking routes. |
| Grand Ballroom level | Grand Ballroom ABC; Rooms 25–26; common space 16,200 sq ft | Large sessions, banquets and pre-function flow. |

Hotels Near Huntington Convention Center: Connected vs Walkable
Venue materials say nearly 5,000 hotel rooms are within walking distance. The clearest “connected” choice is the 600-room Hilton Cleveland Downtown, which connects directly to the convention campus.
Hilton Cleveland Downtown
Best when you want indoor event access, short room breaks, less luggage exposure to weather and the easiest garage/hotel/venue connection.
Marriott / Westin area
Current venue brochure and parking map identify nearby Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower and Westin Cleveland Downtown. Check the event’s hotel block before booking independently.
Walkable inventory
Nearly 5,000 rooms gives you rate choice, but compare actual walking route, nighttime schedule, weather, parking and luggage—not distance alone.

Move-In, Freight, Utilities and Internet: Save These Rules
The official 2026 Exhibitor Manual and Event Planning Guide contain rules that are easy to miss on a normal attendee page. If you are exhibiting, the dock address, order deadline and freight workflow matter more than the public entrance.
| Topic | 2026 official detail | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Advance-rate deadline | Service orders must be received 21 days before the first event day to qualify for advance rates. | Late orders move to standard pricing. |
| Payment | Credit/debit card or ACH; card transactions add a 3% processing fee. | Useful when comparing payment method and total booth budget. |
| Booth number | Required on all service orders. | Missing or changed booth numbers can delay placement. |
| POV self-unload | Truck/trailer cargo bed cannot exceed 12 ft; hand carry and two/four-wheel dollies are allowed. | Larger or motorized-material-handling moves go through the contractor/teamster workflow. |
| POV unload window | Up to 20 minutes in the designated POV area unless more time is authorized. | Stage crew and materials before entering the dock. |
| Dock speed | 5 mph. | Official safety rule during move-in/out. |
| Advance freight | The Center does not accept advance materials/freight. | Ship to the General Service Contractor or deliver during the designated move-in period. |
| Public Wi-Fi | Center-GUEST is free in public areas but has limited bandwidth. | Use wired service for demos, payment processing or other mission-critical booth operations. |

What Room Rent Includes—and What It Does Not
The 2026 Event Planning Guide makes the budget distinction clearer than most search results. Basic room rent includes some setup and building services, while production labor, event security, catering, utilities and other event-specific needs can be separate costs.
Meeting-room and exhibit-hall inclusions
Meeting room
One standard room setup, a head table with two chairs, registration table with two chairs, podium, normal show-hour lighting/HVAC, convenience wall outlets and one room refresh per day are among the current guide’s included items.
Registration power
The guide includes four complimentary 20-amp services in the designated registration area.
Full-price exhibit hall
Current guide includes 24-hour building security and up to 1,000 complimentary conference chairs for a general session when the exhibit hall is purchased at full rental price.
Common costs not automatically included
| Cost area | Current planning-guide treatment | Question to ask |
|---|---|---|
| Event personnel | Operations, housekeeping, event security, police, EMT/fire, IT, engineering, box office and coat-check labor can be additional. | Which roles are mandatory for my attendance/profile? |
| Service providers | Edlen utilities, Mills James A/V/rigging and Levy F&B are not simply included with room rent. | Which exclusive services does my event actually require? |
| Cleaning | Pre/post-show, aisle and booth cleaning can be separate. | What is included in common-area maintenance versus show-floor cleaning? |
| Inventory / changeovers | Extra building inventory and certain meeting-room changes can add fees. | How many resets are included in our schedule? |
| Digital sponsorship | Advertising/sponsorship outside contracted space can be additional. | Which digital signs/locations are included or sellable? |
Catering deadlines that can affect the bill
Levy is the exclusive food-and-beverage provider. The current guide requires menu selections at least 30 days before the event, the final guarantee 7 business days before, and a 100% non-refundable estimated deposit at least 7 business days before service. Late adjustments can carry additional surcharges. Approved exhibitor sampling is limited to 4 oz beverages and 2 oz food.
Security and medical-service triggers
Room capacity is not the usable-event capacity
Published capacities are maximum planning figures. Staging, dance floors, A/V, production, accessible seating and other room elements reduce the final usable capacity, so do not quote the room-table maximum as a guaranteed attendee count.
Ownership vs management
Cuyahoga County owns the Convention Center as a County asset. The Cuyahoga County Convention Facilities Development Corporation (CCCFDC), a nonprofit formed by County Council, oversees operation and management of County-owned convention assets. The current facility management team is Legends Global, hired by Cuyahoga County.
